Car-geek video of my left-front tire (Dunlop Star Spec) flexing/deforming during my first run: Bonus close-up cone hit towards the end, too!

Video of my 3rd run. Sadly, was my 2nd slowest of the day, but the only clean run I managed... Was good enough for 1st heat PAX FTD, but 2nd & 3rd heat drivers fixed that easily enough.

Your footwork was inspiring. Since watching it I have been working on mine during my commute.

Glad to hear it. I use my daily driver (Chevy Blazer, automatic) to practice left-foot braking. You just have to get over the on/off aspect of your clutch foot, and learn modulation.

The first time I tried it at an event (at the urging of a very good instructor Tim Comeau), I stabbed the brakes so hard the visor on my helmet closed!

Heel-and-toe just comes down to practice, and pedal arrangement. My VW GTi was nearly impossible to heel-and-toe in, so I always thought it was a very advanced skill that I just couldn't pick up. Then I picked up my 924S and got it down (although pretty mis-matched on the revs) at my first event. I guess that's the difference... economy car vs. sports car

Default PCA SDR Performance Driving School

Hi all,

Though I do have some AX vids that may come, with my new cam these are much better! This is a student ride along time at the PDS in San Diego last weekend. For those unfamilier with the format we teach the students all weekend, then at the very end on Sunday we give them basically a fun run ride along. Hope you enjoy it.

Mark

TSCC Autocross at ACU4 at Little Creek Amphib Base in VA Beach on 17 Oct 2010; 2004 Porsche Boxster S on Dunlop Star Specs. This was my fastest run. Unfortunately, I drove it during fun runs after the event, and not during competition where it really counted, where the best I managed to pull off was 1.2 seconds slower

That foot cam is pretty cool. I've been wanting to get a set up like this for my car. What kind of cam are you using in the footwell? Are you using a light or is it just natural lighting?

3 runs from a recent GGR PCA event at Alameda NAS.

I picked up an odd sound that I have to figure out what it is. Only occurred at the end of a run, after we started running with shorter breaks between runs.

It's a $7 camera off eBay w/natural lighting. It's a pain to set to record when I'm strapped in and getting ready to run. I'm going to switch to a velcro type mounting so I can set it to record, then get it stuck to my cheap little mount I fabbed up from two metal 'L' brackets.
