Default Hard to depress clutch on start.

Hey guys, I just wanted to check on an issue I have been having with my 2007 997.1 TT. Sometimes when I try to depress the clutch to start the engine, it becomes really hard to press it. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the clutch master cylinder, but it is still happening. The slave cylinder and the clutch itself was also replaced within the past 10,000 miles. Any ideas on what could be going on?

Thanks everybody!

Interesting, I just noticed that for the first time last weekend with my 09. I though it was due to the fact it had been sitting for a week; I guess not. Looks like I need to research this further. Thanks

Sorry the slave cylinder and accumulator were both replaced 10,000 miles ago. Could the accumulator go bad this fast? If I replace the accumulator should I also then replace the slave cylinder at the same time? Thanks y'all.

Porsche has a two year warranty for the parts that were purchased.

For record, based on the 996TT and 997TT for daily drivers the slave fails on average every 3 to 4 years..

How long has it been since the slave was replaced?

The slave and acculmator were replaced 11/11/2013. The car is still under CPO, so they should cover it if it is the accumulator / slave cylinder. Would the recommnedation be that both the accumulator and slave are replaced? Just concerned about it failing after 1.5 years.

The dealer will most likely JUST replace the accumulator.. There needs to be Pentosin leaking at the SLAVE but more importantly at the front reservoir. That's the "classic" failure.

But it would probably be better to replace both right? I'll discuss with my service manager. Both were replaced 10,000 miles ago, 1.5 years ago, strange to see it fail so quickly, darn.

Porsche will not replace a item that has not failed "yet".. They could nail you for $850 for the slave install and cover the $128.00 accumulator as warranty..

I had the same problem. Had to push my foot "through the floor" just to get it started. Clutch accumulator cost me $450 through local euro shop. Like butter now!

I'm having a different problem, prior to starting the car it is really hard to press the clutch down.

Sorry, should have clarified. Mine was both, hard to push down and had to push it extremely hard to floor just to get ignition. Accumulator fixed both, but my slave was also replaced last year. Not sure why prev owner didn't do accumulator at same time.

Quite doing squats in the morning prior to starting your car!

JK, do you have the GT2 conversion? Kevin is correct, Porsche works in a "Maintenance" motion only.

My dealer replaced both the slave cylinder and the accumulator. Now it's like butter, smooth...

I might do the GT2 conversion once I am out of CPO.

Just had my accumulator replaced, thank goodness for my extended warranty. Problem solved!
