New 991 TTS

Me thinks Porsche spends too much time dipping into and sharing the parts buckets.
Be nice if they kept the parts from the leisure vehicles away from the 911's or keep the designers separated.

Coming out of a ZR1 Corvette and a Gen 4 Viper, I am done with that shifting. The Turbo S is much faster, nicer, safer and that PDK is so Bad ***..
My first Porsche and I am very impressed. I am getting a 991 TS,I hope I like it as much as my 997 TS...

the 991TTS is a longer, wider more expensive 997TTS.
If you are a latest greatest kinda fella then it is a must have.
A ring time is what i wanna see before i even consider it over a 997.

i think the normal 991 needs power, the TT and TTs will be able to take advantage of the better chassis... and turn the car into just an outright insane machine.
the TTs comes out sooner, smart for them because i personally would just buy the TT...
i love the 997, but the 991 is just amazing to drive... the chassis is just too well built for 350/400hp.

I like everything about it and if it would be my only 'special' car I guess I could live with PDK. But for me it ends with the 997 turbo manual. I want to shift in my Porsche.

^you are probably right!!!
But some people (like me) only buy 911s....I would never buy a Lamborghini/Ferrari/Mc/...just not for me....Call me narrow minded but I don't care for those cars no matter what happens to the price of a 911, etc... Having said this, I have written off Porsche for now since I am a MT guy...this means that I have most likely bought my last new sports car...I am chasing older 911s now.

I have had a stick 993, and would never have any other way, Tiptronic were awful, when I bought the 991 I test drove both, PDK won me and I love it every single day.
As far as the 997 vs. 991, IMO the 991 is the first 991 worthy of succeeding the 993, again IMO, it is just beautiful.

Tiptronic yes Automatic, PDK not so. Have to drive one to begin to appreciate the speed the accuracy of shifts. Accuracy comes from perfect rev matching.

Agree w Ilko, I had a pdk tts for almost a yr...it's an automatic, trust me. The first month was great, I soon stopped using the paddles and just left it in drive like the other drones commuting. In that mode a tip is smoother. I got really bored and sold it.

Agreed. But I guess we are old school and some people just don't like shifting.
No doubt that the PDK makes faster shifts and a manual will never match a PDK 0 to 60 times.
But those are just data points. I don't drag race my car against others at stop lights..
I love to shift my car.. We will see if the 991 blows me away when I drive it.. It just might.. But a really fast automatic still does not turn me on.
My Porsche is my "fun" car. And having driven many PDK cars they are not "fun". I got bored with it very quickly. I have never gotten "bored" with my 6 speed.
No doubt the PDK is faster at the "Ring" than a manual. But how many of us really will ever get our cars even close to the limit of a professional race driver at the "Ring"?
And guess who is planning to beat whatever time the new TT sets at the "Ring"? Nissan... So that means I should get a GTR?
This all goes down to personal taste. For me I will stick to the 997's for a while.. And a 997-2 GT3 is getting to be on the top of my list to compliment my TT (which I don't think I will ever sell.)
The last of the 6 speed Mezger GT3 is very appealing to me..
