Appreciate all the feedback...I've decided to pass on this car. After input from the local indie mechanic and a local dealer, I just couldn't get comfortable with it. The indie mechanic said it carried some additional risk. The local dealer said that PCNA stopped warranting cars that are not driven a minimum of 1500 miles per year because it's harmful to the car (I haven't confirmed the accuracy of that statement). This car will likely end up being just fine but just wasn't for me at this price. Also IMO the standard TT spoiler is more attractive...perfectly understated. The search continues!

911993, Of course I respect your decision. If you don't like the wing and the price that is cool. You will find something that you will really like -- for sure. Lots of choices...
But the dealer dude is full of it...no doubt about it....I quit while I am ahead. I have never heard of this and I have been around...heck these guys were trying to talk me into buying and parking cars. And I know 2 guys to be exact that hoard cars and have a couple of pcars....rarely driven...Annual "warranty"...
A good PPI, fluid change, and some hard running that's what that TT needs!![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
By the way, there was 993TT that looked really good too...did you happen to see that? I really liked that car.

I have had two Porsches before my 997TT. I can say with full confidence and honesty that I have not lost money on any of them. I made money on my 1997 Carrera S. I made a huge significant amount of money on my 1993 RS America with 18k miles. I know if I ever sell my 997TT, which I will not, I will make money. Porsche has never let me down!
Just read in the other thread you sold a 964 with 18000 miles for a substantial profit. That car, when you sold it, was how old ?
Buying this gem of a car and using it for the next 10 years at a rate of 2000 miles per year will bring it to just over 20000 miles. You really think a 15 year old 997/1 turbo with 20000 miles will not bring good money ?
This Porsche will not let its next owner down, I am sure

Even used as daily driver it will depreciate much much less than any new Porsche.
So what's smart about his move ?
I agree the aero kit is not for everyone and that could certainly be a deal breaker, get that. I can also understand price is high compared to higher mileage cars and he does not want to pay the premium. All good.
But if someone wants a like new 997/1 turbo this seems like a golden opportunity.

The low mile 997 turbo manuals will go for prices we can't imagine today. And all the others (higher mile, etc) will follow.
And here is why (imo of course):
- turbo
- racing derived dry sump engine with stellar reputation, not only that, but the last one !
- manual , the last one
- modern (esp, 4wd, airbags, etc)
- still looks like a proper 911 from the back
- not too many made (manual) and most are used today as a normal car. making the 'nice' ones hard to find.
- drives like ... well you know if you own one. It's no GT.. but still, as a car for the road there is no equal.
Those who want to drive, drive !
Those who want to look and drive a little , do that !
Those who just want to look, fine too !
You can't go wrong with this car
