I have found a really interesting 08 TT with just 580 miles. I probably would just move on and avoid the risk but this car has some incredible options, up to $158K. The impact of letting cars sit around seems be a subject of intense debate. Some say it only affects the older and not the newer engines. The story is the PO was injured in a motorcycle accident shortly after buying the car and never became comfortable with the clutch again.
This car has no warranty remaining. The seller claims he started the car 1X per month and drove it a few miles. He also said he stabilized the fuel. Anyone have experience with TT's sitting around? What's the expected and worst case scenario for a car like this?
The car also has the ceramic brakes and aero package. I've read lots of threads on ceramics and since I don't plan to track it's a nice option. I'm less sure about the aero option and I could find very little on it. Is the aero package considered a desirable package for resale? What exactly does the aero package consist of?

Less than 1K miles and being offered at $95K for a car that sold for around $160K new?
I'm not current on Turbo market prices but that just feels too low to me. Generally a seller believes (sometimes correctly) that low miles is a real plus and prices the car accordingly.
Update: I plugged the VIN into a google search and got some hits. The car was offered for sale back in May of this year. Still for sale? What's keeping the buyers away? Is the price really too high? Or is there something else?

I see nothing wrong with that car, you better jump on it, I would've if it was around when I was looking. There is also a ruf 997tt conversion in the fs section in the same price range.

Does anyone else but me think that the interior is really bland? Awesome car but i I don't think I could live with that interior. Maybe it's just the pictures? I the center console storage compartment leather? I'm not a fan of the gloss black trim pieces. Perhaps the pictures just wash everything out and it looks great in person..

I'd be very interested if in the market. The (low) price doesn't bother me much because options don't necessarily return much on resale. I wouldn't expect the sticker of $158K to drive the current price as much as the low mileage.
It occurs to me that this car may have only been to full operating temperature a very few times. If you assume it was bought in mid-'08, then you have 5 years (60 months) of once-a-month drives. That averages less than 10 miles per drive.
I'd be more interested in the DME for this car than I would for most. What if the low mileage is simply due to it being a track rat? Doesn't make sense to me, but you never know.
