You are so welcome Dean. And don't put the car away just yet. I've driven my car well into to Nov and Dec depending on weather. Also make sure you do a good detail or at least a good wash and wax before storing. Keep enjoying your 997S.

Default homelink

I have another problem. There are three gates to get thru to reach my house then the garage door opener. The code for "my" gate and the gd opener I could program and they work fine. The two gates, both use the same opener, will not work. I have tried many times and here's the thing, the car blinks the proper three times but will not open the gates. What could I be doing wrong? rrm

Some times the opener will have to be trained to the remote too. So once the remote is trained to the homelink you then have to press the homelink button and then the learn button on the opener. This might be the case with your gate. If so I would bet you will be SOL.

I followed DJ23's instructions which by the way are much better than the Porsche owners manual. I had a different problem to begin with, I could not get the car to recognize one of my remotes. It picked up my security gate immediately but would not pick up my garage door opener. The garage remote was working fine but in order for the car to recognize I had to put in new batteries in the remote. Got that info off of HomeLink.com.

Problem now is I can't get the car to learn the code from my opener. I have a message into homelink.

Just took delivery on my 3rd 911 today. 2005 997S CAB, these cars just keep getting better and better!

Thanks, DJ23. I finally got the Turbo's Homelink working. Unfortunately, still a no-go with the Cayenne.

Finally got my isssue resolved. Here was the problem, I have an Overhead brand of opener and the remote hadsa switch for two frequenccy settings. 315 and 390 MHz. Home link requires the 390 setting. My remote would not "shift" from the default 315 to 390. I ordered a new remote trained it and within 2 minutes had Porsche working.

I have a floating code and followed the directions for all three buttons. Each worked first time.

It's nice to see that this thread is still helpful 4 years later.

really easy to do if you read the directions. It's funny to think the bumper has a sensor in there for the home link

Well, I followed the directions Jay posted, and apart from my opener's "Learn" button not reacting in exactly the same way, it worked perfectly. I tend to be very good at following directions, but what I now realize, having gone back and looked at the manual, is that either I didn't have the car close enough to the garage door motor, or I didn't press the Home Link button enough times at the end of the process. I must have tried this 4 or 5 times since I have had the car, so thank you, Jay!!!

Anyone have any suggestions when the car just won't learn the remote? I've tried several times. I called my friend who is the service manager at the local dealer and he suggested opening the front trunk. Still no foglight flash...
