This thread still lives!
Hi all,
this is 2020 and i’m still struggling.
1. my gate motor does NOT have any learn/smart button.
2. my cayenne turbo DID blink 3 times
3. however, it still wouldn't open my gate
I hate clipping the stupid clicker on the sun visor especially the turbo comes with nice alcantara
any suggestion is much appreciated!

Finally took the time to really try and program my home link today. And yes it finally worked. For those who are still having an issue here is how I finally accomplished it.
1.) Clear any codes by pressig the outer 1 and 3 buttons simultaneously until the diode (to the right) starts to flash quickly.
2.) Then press the desired button you want to program until the diode begins to flash slowly.
3.) Hold tansmitter approx. 12 inches in front of bumper and press transmit button on remote until the daytime driving lights flash 3 times.
4.) Now press the "learn" button on the motor box of your garage door opener. A red indicator light will flash on the box. I had to use a ladder to do this and park my car just in front of the garage so that it would pick up the signal. Once the red learning light flashes get back in your car and push the same button that you are programing repeatedly until the garage door responds to the programmed button. I had to push my program button 4 times to learn the code, and have the garage door respond to the new signal.
That was it. You will know if you have a "learn" button on your motor box. Most motor boxes that have a little wire hanging down from them are learn, applicable boxes.
For those who have had a difficult time programming home link, try this. If it sitll doesn't work then call Home Link themselves to assist you. They have a 800 number on the internet to call.

FWIW, the rolling code motor box light may be one of four colors depending upon the manufacturer. I replaced the GDO unit in my 2011 CTT when one of my three buttons stopped working. I discovered this when I repeatedly tried re-programming the same button and nothing worked. I don't know if this is a problem for others so I suggest you try programming another button if your preferred button (1, 2, 3) doesn't work. I've followed the earlier instructions several times without difficulty.

I had a problem too, 2005 Porsche 911. My garage door opener has rolling code technology. I kept doing the rolling code process, over and over and over. Before each try I cleared the Homelink memory. HOWEVER, I figured out from reading other posts you have to program Homelink twice. First, do the process for a FIXED code door. Then do the process for a rolling code door on the same Homelink button. That worked fine for me with the 911 parked inside the garage.

Trying to program my new (to me) '15 Cayenne S. The programming seems to take...door opens/closes, then when I step away from the car, and get back in later, it seems to have forgotten the programming.
I'm wondering if the Chamberlain bridge, necessary for my old car, is causing interference. I've unplugged it and will see what happens.
Side note: Anybody need a slightly used Chamberlain bridge?
