I find that hard to believe. I took delivery in Europe and the hardtop was on it. I left it with them while cruising the autobahns for a month. How would the hardtop GET to the states if the hardware wasn't already in the car?

Use an E-Z-Lift for a one-man install and deinstall of the top. Takes 8 minutes either way.

Do a search within the 997 forum for my previous posting on that lift.

Great set up - but looks like the eztop folks have halted production http://www.eztop.com.
Hopefully they're up and running by the time i actually get my hardtop.

Here's that link. It's the best design I have run across.

I hope they get back to work! We need to stimulate this economy!

Would be quite interested in seeing what options you have on yours? And whether you ended up going for some sort of radar detector – that’s a dealer installed option so I haven’t made a decision on that.

Looking at the same issue; shopping for a hardtop for a '09 TT Cab I'm looking to buy. A few calls to some Parts Dept's, a few calls to my local Porsche Specialist Mechanic and voila, they're out there, and pretty cheap. Mechanic tells me he just retrofit a TT, and it cost $600 for parts and labor. Of course I've got to paint it, but so what?
If the whole deal costs me $2k, I'd be surprised.

You didn't get option 840? Paddle shifters for your PDK?

Doesn't matter since you can go after market on that one. Don't want to fart around with buttons!

My White TT Cab arrives mid Feb, for March 1 delivery.

Must admit, was shocked that the Hard top doesn't come as standard anymore, as it did with my outgoing 996TT Cab.

Having said that, we hardly ever used it, as the car was garaged, and if the weather was that crap, we'd use another car. Then it just ends up taking a lot of space up in the garage.

I've gone for Carrara White/PCCB/sport Chrono/PDK+/white stitching on black
leather.

Anyone know if the mounting hardware is already installed on a 2010 911 Turbo? Do you need to install anything after its delivered to be able to secure the hardtop?

According to my dealer the new cars do not come with the hardware pre-installed to secure the hardtop. Allegedly that is now done through the parts department after the new car arrives at the dealer.
