Hope you are right, Chris.

I took the press release figure for a cab at 157000 Euro, deducted the 19% VAT for Germany, and at 127170 Euro, that equals $180,000 US.....

Where did you see the US retail pricing?

From what source? I hope you are correct.

I'm sure if it is, the cab will be in the 145 range, base, which is still stupid pricing. Damn cars should be much lower than this, especially now that they booted the $80 million man.

They always hedge the selling price against the USD, it's never a clean conversion EUD to USD. They know they would never sell them at 180k.

I recall 2001 996TT's with 130K window stickers....I bet you'll see a 180K 997TT.

I just built two TT cabs using the new order guide, with plenty of my specific options/wants/etc.....172 and 178 respectively. They will not be in my garage anytime soon.

Good grief.

Eric,
There is the possibility that VW will try and restore some lost 'status' to the Porsche lineup (particularly the Turbo, GT2, GT3) by reducing production and increasing prices. Who knows, it might even have a positive impact on depreciation

I know for a fact that there is going to be overlap and pricing (and performance) changes further on down the lineup.
There were some VAG cars proposed that (back when PAG was almost buying VAG) were considered 'too close to a Boxster/Cayman or base Carrera) in order to go forward and shelved/cancelled. That is no longer the case, but it will take 3-4 years for these cars to (re)emerge.

Look at what VW has done with the Lamborghini models/pricing over time (granted a fairly short time), this may give an indication as to what might be done with the 'upper part' of the Porsche Carrera lineup.

VW is not driven by WW's obsession with 100K cars/year at all costs.
They will (most likely) look at Porsche as nothing more than the 10th model in their corporate lineup and position models/variants/pricing accordingly, based on production efficiency and profit....in other words, run it like a car company.

Porsche North Scottsdale has one 2010 TT allocation. SA quoted me $132K and change BASE price.

Pay sticker for a 2010 or get a nice juicy discount on a 2009? That's going to be an interesting choice.

Can you help the partially clueless here? What has VW done with Lambo pricing as I do not follow their line up at all. I assume dramatic price increases?

What really sucks is the savings PAG has on the new block (if so claimed)....in the 15-20k range per engine block. Then they raise existing prices for 2010 on top of that.

I'm all for a company like this making a profit, but for God's sake, if there's 15-20 MORE they can reduce and STILL make the profit, why not at least keep things in line and DROP the price a tiny bit? With all the add-ons and doo-dads that gobble up wallets, there will be plenty o'profit regardless.

Oh well....I'll be keeping the C4S Cab.......
