OG, one option that might be a must have would be heated adaptive sport seats, my back loves 'em.
Back to the topic, I think there are a lot of pluses to buying from a dealer.

Adaptive and PCCBs are two I like. I really like PCCBs on the track unlike some. And I have owned
Gen I AND Gen IIs
Any others you can think of would be appreciated.

Heated *** seats, your back will love the heat and the lumbar supports!
LSD, SC are nice. the good thing about a turbo is that a lot of good stuff is std equipment. Good hunting!

I am in the market for a used 997TT this year. I'm in no hurry, but will pull the trigger this year. Deflation is definitely a factor right now, because I am watching prices every week, and they are clearly coming down every week. Looking at the economic news that comes out every day, I am reasonably confident that prices will be lower in six months than they are today. That gives me every reason so wait for the car that is perfectly optioned for my tastes. Color is very important if I am going to spend upwards of $100,000 and I plan to keep the car for a long time (which I typically do). I don't want a yellow car at any price, so I think the color can clearly affect the price, no matter how nicely optioned the car may be. I would happily pay $95,000 for a silver car optioned like this one, but would probably not pay $75,000 for a yellow one.

That being said, supply and demand will determine the actual selling price. I'd love to know what this particular car ends us selling for.

Color doesnt mean that much to me in a Turbo. In a RS it would mean something but not that much.
I have owned a midnite blue, Guards Red, GT silver and a mexico blue car. I would like to have a SYellow car just to see what its like. But I wont buy one unless the price is right. Out of the 4 colors I have owned, I really dont have a favorite, and would own any again. I really would like a cobalt blue or minerva blue
one, but really GT silver or even Artic would work but thats awfully common on a Porsche. Polar silver would be fantastic as I love blue silvers. I like deep reds too Arena being a favorite and the new Ruby red.
I could even do black now that I know how to take car of black and I appreciate the deep deep shine you can get on dark cars but you have increased maintenance. GR and silver or white dont show dirt as much but dont POP like a dark car does. I would take a color based on a better price, but not oddball like a purple or a dull finish.
But youre right, I would take a great deal on a color, but I have to make sure I dont let them know that.
What I DONT want is an oddball interior. AND prices are falling weekly. This may become more brutal before it gets better. There may be a time where a dealer would take any price the way things are going.

Agree on the interior - even more important than exterior color. For some reason I can't live with a brown interior - but again, that's just personal taste.

Interesting to ready the last two posts of OG and Porshceholic regarding color desires and what you would pay. I would pass on any silver, black or seal/meteor even at 75k, but would probably not think twice about going up to 99k for a Minerva, Mexico or other interesting PTS color...too bad there ain't any out there. Nordic Gold is really cool...was it available in '07?

Would actually prefer a unique interior color ala bi-color black/terracotta or red, cocoa, or natural brown. There are none of those out there sadly, except for a couple of natural browns.

Probably going to end up settling on a Cobalt or Midnight car if there is one out there without beige or grey interior.

Time is definitely on our side right now.

I have considered selling the car for the new GT3 for the track we will be finishing this year. the car has only 3800 miles, and is MY08. My dealer is telling me he can only find 95K for the car. After reading this forum thoroughly, I am keeping my turbo and doing a few mods for track.

Prices are way off, but good grief!

I couldn't agree with you more-why give that beautiful car away to a bad market. With proper tweeking, you could always make your turbo into a track car-you could never make your gt3 into a turbo. Very smart move on your part.

Mike Since I have jumped in this market I have some advice for you. From what I found you should be able to get 105-110 in a quick sale. The only problem waiting is then the price could/will drop.
The dealer is going to sell your car for 105 to 110 so he is going to make you and offer of 95. Thats probably wholesale. You should sell it privately if you want to recoup some cash for your GT3 purchase.

Now I did the same thing you are trying to do going from a TT to a GT3, 996 GT3 then 997 GT3.
I am thinking of buying a TT now after owning the 2 GT3s. I was going to the track more and more, so I got a GT3. Then back problems and less track time.
So you have to ask yourself, do you WANT this car, do you NEED this car. If you are going to track 2 times a month then get the GT3, if less than that, I think the TT can do 95% of what you need to do at the track. Suspension upgrades will make it handle close to a GT3 then HP mods will make up for the 300 lbs you need to make up. So find that threshold you want where you need a track car thats legal on the street. If you dont get to that threshold then make your street car capable for the track. You have one of the best street cars for the track. (having said all that the GT3 is a street car, in bare race car terms, but we are talking trackable street cars)

OG:
Thanks! this is my 4th porsche, and selling them has all been like pulling teeth ( which I do ) but none as bad as this. I am strongly considering doing exactly what you say. I may try the private sector, but i hate being jostled by all the tire kickers. This turbo is a really great car. being where i am located makes it hard to get to someone who can mod or tune. APR is 3 hours from Mobile, alabam..other than that I'll have to transport or drive/fly. but i am almost convinced keeping it and doing the mods for track. one reason it only has 3800 miles on it is I felt early on that i might sell and buy the GT3 for track. But this way I might have my cake and eat it too. thanks!
Mike

It would seem that a "selling price" from a dealer without more information can be misleading. For instance, was a trade involved, financed through the dealer, etc.

No trade I believe he did a finance contract but thats not like a huge windfall for the dealer.
