I need to make a decision whether to purchase a new 2008 TT. It was not ordered with the Sport Chrono Package. Do you feel this will be a significant resale issue three or four years down the road? The car was configured by a dealer and has the following options:
Carrera White with Special Cocoa, 19" Turbo Wheels, Heated Seats, Standard Rockers Panels Painted to match, Door Entry Guards Stainless Steel with Illumination, Storage Compartment with the Porsche Logo Headlight Cleaners Painted to Match Exterior, Instrument Dials in Carrara White, Gear Lever and Handbrake Aluminum and Leather, Door Finishers Painted Exterior Color, Park Assist System and Floor Mats.

The dealer has no clue what resells and needs to find a different vocation. Without Sport Chrono, pass.

The dealer paid $890 for white dials, $780 for illuminated sills, but didn't spec the sport chrono for $1920? I, too, would pass.

the lack of sc may have a small impact on this particular car. seems like it was spec'd with mainly appearance items , s opposed to performance.
personally I would pass, for 130K plus why settle?

I can count on the numbers of times in have used the SC. The throttle response is great for the track but a little abrupt for city driving.

What about PASM?, you won't get that either. A tune does not replace SC and a tuned non-SC car remains slower than a tuned SC car.
I say pass.

So it's a 'poser' car instead of a driver car.
Subi, asked yoruself this question, do you buy the TT for the performance or just for the looks? If the answer is the later, then this car could be for you. But as golfguy said, ask for a MAJOR discount, that missing wart on the dash is gonna kill your future value, you might as well ask the dealer to absorb that depreciation right now.

I am upgrading from a 997. I also understand that adaptive seats are standard on 2008 model, as are other 2007 options. i have not been able to obtain the base specs to verify. they do not appear to be published online yet. I will probably not track the car, but do not want to cheat myself out of the add'n performance.
