Very disappointed with 997TT

Lulu,
In my humble opinion there is not a better car in the world. If you need some more thrust I would suggest the GIAC ecu upgrade and an AWE exhaust. I have about 500 miles on my tt and have been very impressed with the build quality. I will probably do the upgrades when I hit the 2k mark. The car is very refined compared to the 996tt(maybe to refined?).

didn't you post this on 6speedonline too?
the car is great.
on the other hand, you need to learn how to drive it.

Hey Guys,
I never said the car was slow, what I did say and maintain, is that it is not really faster than other cars like the M6, SL65 etc. The SL65 actually blows the turbo away on the highways at speeds aboce 200 km/h. I have an SL65 and I know what I am talking about. The SL is NOT a real is sportscar, the TT is, and thats what bothers me with it, that it is not faster than the rest.

@C4S Surgeon
Honestly, this is my opinion and I dont look for any desired effects. But I can give my honest oipion here, or not ? Or do you think it is a pleasure for me to 'talk bad' about my own car..?

I have not had the pleasure of driving the new Turbo, I can tell you from real life experience that the new M6 does not "walk way" from my lowly 997S if I really try...I can only imagine a well driven and broken in Turbo.

get a z06, call callaway, you will most likely out accelerate a F16.
but if you want to "drive", there aren't many better cars out there than your TT.

Complaining about a 997turbo? You, sir, have it way too good.
Think of all the poor children in Europe driving Yugos and then reevaluate your current situation.
Seriously, if you don't like it - sell it. Go and get yourself a totally blown out vette or mustang. They will be nice and unreliable, but maybe more of what you are looking for - for all those times you spend above 250kph - right up until you are spam in a can.

I actually believe Lulu when he says a M6 or SL65 will pull a 997TT above 200 kmh, the reason is the 997TT has quite a bit of parasitic drag due to its AWD!
That being said if Lulu wanted a car that shines above 200 kmh he could have chosen another type of car. 0-100 the 997 TT is hard to beat, above that there are several cars that will beat it.

Porsches have never been about one dimensional top speed in a straight line. A Porsche, especially a 911, is the complete pakage. No other sports car can be driven to work every day, tracked hard on the weekend, then taken out to dinner with your wife without missing a beat.
Lulu what kind of response did you really expect on Rennlist when your first and only post is bad mouthing the 997TT? I hope you find a car that better suits your needs.
