Default 997TT Option: 447,--Inflt. Spare Tire
Looks like Porsche is coming to our conclusion,--that a 997 without a spare is not a good thing. On page 26 of the latest ordering guide for the 997 turbo they now offer an inflatable spare, #447.

Spare wheels/tires for the 997 model cars have been vailable for more than six months already.

I'm sorry, I seemed to have have had a momentary lapse of reason to believe my local salesperson over any member of these boards. I don't know what I was thinking!

There are times when my wife is not "exactly right" (a.k.a. WRONG!!) on some issues. When I inform her of the real truth, her comeback to me is always, "OK then... let that be a lesson for you!"

Your salesman is correct. The ordering guidelines on this site are preliminary. Obviously, the final will look much like the preliminary but at this point the final is not done and no cars can be ordered.
