Default Tune - reccomendation?

I’m seeking a moderate tune for street use, I do not have the Sports Chrono option.

My car is RHD (Australia), I’ve been cautioned that some tunes written for LHD cars may have weird side effects.

So, I was thinking of a Softronic tune or the one sold by Suncoast which includes the Sport button and pretty much mimics the Sport Chrono option, but happy to consider all and any recommendation.

And if it’s not too impertinent, I’d be interested in the cost of purchasing such a tune and did it require taking it to a shop with a PIWIS to write it to the DME?

thank you.

Hey Mate,

Ive had a UMW tune on my 997TT (Sydney based) for 5 + years. No issues.
I have mates that have UMW on a 996 and 997.2 - Same - Zero issues.

Highly recommend Kevin @ UMW .

^ +1 for UMW as well. Although I don't drive my car nearly as much as I used to, I've had no issues. Here's an old thread I documented my results w/ dyno graphs, mods, etc.

I've had the Softronic tune for almost 4 years and 15,000 miles. Performance is greatly improved and zero issues. Plug & play installation. Great value.

Softonic for 10 or so years and about 50K miles. Transformed the car. 100 cell cats and exhaust no lights no issues nothing but good. Right through state inspection too.

I'm really happy with my off the shelf APR tune. It comes with 91, 93 and 100 octane tunes you can switch to by using your cruise control stalk to switch between them. I've had it for many years with no issues. I've used APR for a few cars in the past so I have a high level of comfort with them and many years of experience with how reliable their tunes are..
