I agree that $130-$140k sounds low for a manual 997.2 Turbo. There just aren't many of them and they demand a high premium even at the mileage you're considering. For $100-$120k you could get a PDK Turbo S though.

Not a market to have color / color combos a priority

Good hunting!

totally. i daily drive a c8 rs6 so really looking for a manual car to have fun with. i am leaning towards a gt3 6 speed but i like that with the turbos you dont have to be in high revs all the time. Michigan roads are also horrendous and stiff cars can be tough although this isnt for a daily driver.

a lot to unpack here. as always the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

imo, previous buyer considerably overpaid based on comps. the car definitely had a few issues - it's one owner on paper but has been through multiple hands. i see a large scratch on the quarter panel, higher that normal wear on the bolster for the mileage, some iffy paint meter readings, and a curious power wire run direct to the fusebox. if the hood has PPF that could explain the readings there. not uncommon to tap directly into the fuse box for accessories such as radar detector or dash cam, though you typically want to use a fuse tap for that. the underbody rust, gash in the dash, and other things proclaimed things that make it a "POS" i see no evidence of.

the listing popping up on a holiday isn't doing the listing any favors with the drama mongers. surely the current seller read even the post sale comments on the previous auction and is ready to speak to them. from what i have read BaT doesn't give you a firm date when the car will go live and it often catches sellers off guard.

No sale. Bid to $141k. Lots of unnecessary and nasty comments on the auction. In my opinion, $141k is probably really the real value. With the 3700 miles, you can barely drive it without major depreciation. Nice car? Yes. A really rare GT3RS, GT2RS, Carrera GT? No. Those cars can be bought with that mileage and just sit and gain in value. Did this car deserve to be torn apart for random things? No, but sadly that's BAT. Lots of keyboard warriors out there with nothing better to do. Each and every car on there is subject to being highly scrutinized. I sold an M3 there a few years back and it was brutal, but there's also the chance you can get some good bidding out of it. I hope for the seller that he can pivot and figure out a different avenue for the vehicle since this was the car's 3rd listing there. The 4th time will most likely only be worse.

Yeah that was an odd one. My 36k mile Turbo S is somehow in better interior and exterior shape than that one.

I’d never put mine up on BAT in any case, too much craziness from people who have never once made a serious bid; seems like every auction I check you’ve got a guy bidding $911/$997 demanding a DME report.

I know Pcarmarketplace doesn't typically get the top dollar results that BaT does but this was sure a dud for some reason:

https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/d...-911-turbo-29/

A black/black 07 maybe isn't the most sought-after combo but still, at 23k miles it's disappointing that bids only got to $77k.

This was a pretty wild contrast from BAT to C&B on a Turbo S; BAT doesn't seem to show up if its not a manual.

Round 1: 10/13/23
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...bo-s-coupe-11/
Bid to $80,000, reserve not met. 19 comments, 5 (FIVE) bids.

Round 2: 11/28/23
https://carsandbids.com/auctions/rkp...-turbo-s-coupe
Sold for $140,000, 68 comments, 58 bids.

Crazy final bid, but I expect that unique combination also hurt it one day and sent it through the roof the next.

Yeah I agree that car is probably going to be partially about who is in the market at the time and where the color combo appeals to them since it's not for everyone. Also they took a 2nd set of photos which I think helped show the car in a different light (pun intended) which helps too. Huge delta though.

Definitely a stark comparison. I could see where the lack of title and it being Canadian and needing imported could've played a factor here, along with the six previous owners. Maybe it's just me, but people get very picky and iffy on BAT on the smallest of items, just comment, and don't bid. Granted even for this auction, there's a lack of comments- most likely due to it being outside the U.S.

The car itself is gorgeous! Love the cream exterior and cocoa interior!

I'm surprised no one here posted about this auction: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...urbo-coupe-10/

a 997.2 manual TT with 253 miles was bid to $294k and still didn't meet reserve!

I can't think past maybe $150k for a 997 turbo of any variety. I'd rather have a GT car at that point. That level of mileage is also of no value to me. So it's only academically interesting to see just how much money someone, who isn't me, is willing to pay for these cars. 294, 301, 325, etc it's all silly money IMO.

Having written that Ryan Friedman has a 2008 Turbo with like 1100 miles on BAT right now. The auction is over in 6 days. I wonder how much he thinks that car is worth given that it's not as special/rare as that 2012. Given the other cars on his site, I'm guessing the winning bid will need to be >$200k.
