Thanks everyone for the replies. I made it back home safely after covering 1000 miles in the last two days.
I picked up the car from United BMW in Atlanta and drove back to Minneapolis. Car was in great shape, only issue was a squeaky belt but eventually it quieted down after driving on the second day. I did ask the dealer to put new tires on the car, so drove back with a brand new set of Pilot Sport 4S.
Hardest part of the drive was staying under the speed limits!
It is such an amazing machine. It is a Tiptronic, which is maybe not as good as the manual in terms of fun but for driving in the highway the Tiptronic is so much easier.
I can finally say that my childhood dream of owning a Porsche finally came true.
Congratulations on your new Turbo. I've had many Porsches over the years and purchased a low mileage 2007 997.1 Turbo Tiptronic several years ago. Every other Porsche I've had was a MT. The one previous to this was a 996 Turbo with MT. Bottom line I really like the 997 with the Tip. They are very reliable and fun to drive. Enjoy your Porsche!
did you let the beast out in that cold weather in Minn?
I had to drive it just after a snow storm blew through the Twin Cities to get back home.
But other than that, I do not drive it when is that cold outside.
