Personally for me it came down to wanting a manual so S was out of the question but with the manual .2, you're talking a $10k+ premium over the S if you can find one, especially one that is not black on black.

Interesting, it seems like that would be a fairly significant cost for P to incur for 30 additional hp. I would love to have such upgrades on my '11 but looking at the specs as reported in Ex. Mag., the bore and stroke are the same for both years.

Champion motorsports is a sponsor at rennlist, maybe they can clarify the difference.

The crankshaft, connecting rods, camshafts, have one part number for Turbo and Turbo S.

Notably, GT2 RS has M97.70 engine. 3.6 L / 456 kw. Nice.

I think you need to drive both and decide. I personally prefer the 9A1/PDK for its mindblowing performance. But many still want 3 pedals. I drive my PDK in manual and it seems like my old race car with a sequential box, only used the clutch to get out of the paddock. But I can understand how some like the 3 pedals. I do on my 997.2 GT3, but in my opinion, with 530 HP, not having PDK is suboptimal. That PDK is incredible managing power to the ground. I am still blown away every time I drive my TTS, like a missile. But to each his own on the transmission you want.

When I was searching for mine and asking some of the same questions. I also noticed that the Cobb Tune had the Same Part # for Turbo and Turbo S.

Exactly right - There are no internal differences between 2010-2013 997.2 turbo/turbo S. Parts prove it.

That 6speed post is full of bad internet junk. That darn post drove me crazy and sent me calling all over to confirm while I was searching for my 2010 Turbo.
Fact is - 2010s (pre S) simply have a slightly different tune from factory.

To the OP - find a turbo or S that has the options you want. You can save quite a bit if you don’t want PCCBs. Also - You can always tune a turbo to the turbo s +30HP (or more) if you decide you need it. Good luck with your search!

This thread has been a huge help. Especially the research and knowledge of TBarrow. Thank you. I know now how to narrow my search.
