Default Recent service issue

So I went to an Indy for a basic service, who used some other oil called Liqui Moly. I asked for Mobil 1 but he told me it was not they say it is and sent through all this paper work.
I reluctantly agreed and let him do the service.
Now my car smokes a lot on start up but clears, it never did that before.
Even after a fast drive today for around 150 k's it smoked on start up after a coffee break, and it really smoked. It was embarrassing. It cleared after a few seconds, but still....
He said he used a genuine oil filter, but any ideas what could be wrong?
Oil level is fine and the car runs perfect.
I might dump that oil, but a filter from Porsche and do it myself.
Thanks

What viscosity did he use ?
The brand itself is top!
I would gladly and freely use this one :

LiquiMoly is a good brand, used it in my Porsche 911 Turbo and BMW M3, no issues.

Where is the smoke coming from? Is it possible the mechanic spilled some oil while filling and it's just burning off?

IMO, keep an eye out, if no driveability issues or strange noises, you should be fine.

The oil brand is good, and I agree with your Indy, Mobil 1 isn't what it was. This said, yes, you should definitely do the next change yourself. Simply to know what's going on with the car. I suspect there was some fresh oil spilled and/or dipped. It'll burn off after a few drives and as the others say, simply keep an eye out.

Would there be a chance that they overfilled it ? Do a oil level reading to see if the level maxed out.

I checked the level a couple of times and it's fine. He did put too much in, but only about 100mm, so he took some out.
Just seems strange that this happens after a simple oil change.
Is the OEM filter a must? Just curious.

I'd be surprised if it was the oil or filter. I'm not even sure I'd assume something is wrong, one of the quirks of the .1 Turbo's design is occasional white smoke at startup. It's particularly bad if you run it hard and hot and shut the car down without letting it idle and cool for a minute. Happened to me a couple days after I got it, it billowed an embarrassing fountain of white smoke in the parking lot like a 76 Chrysler fresh out of a salvage yard. Ever since, I let it run for 30 seconds or so before turning it off, it seems to prevent it.

Yeh that's true. I was thrashing the car a bit and admit I did just shut it off without sitting.
After reading last night it's clearly not the oil, or the filter.
Lesson learnt......wait a minute
Thanks

The white smoke is common. In my experience with a 993, 996 GT3 and now 997 Turbo...they all like to be about 1/2 of oil fill and smoke less. When they are full more smoke.

Used to use Mobil 1. Switched to Motul 8100, issue has not returned. All that Mezger racket also gone, sounds like a sewing machine now.

Is that a good thing or bad thing? Not sure what racket you mean.

Racket like noise when you first start up. It’s seems like it’s quieter. Good thing.

I've used both Motul and Liqui Moly in a Mezger with good results. They are both great oils and they do seem to quiet the engine down and make it run a little smoother. Perhaps wishful thinking but I think I do notice a difference. I'm currently using Liqui Moly in my TTS and will continue to do so. No problems or smoke so far.

Haha, mine does this when it sits for a while. It's the lifters and everything pumping back up. If you watch, the clattering goes away as the oil pump primes and the oil pressure gauge goes from zero to 5.

One man's "racket" is another man's "character," I suppose.
