Air filter replacement
Hi: I am new to this forum and acquired at 2011 997.2 tts. I purchased a BMC air filter and was about to change it out and realized I do not see the hardware holding the carbon fiber air filter housing. Any procedures for doing this. I see instructions on the 997.1 but did not see any on 997.2. Any help is appreciated.

I think you guys are probably correct. To be fair, it is difficult to measure by the seat of your pants 3-5 hp increase on our type of vehicles. I typically are not into these type of modifications, but thought I would give it a try. I am not starving for power in our type of vehicles as I do not intend to race.

The problem with these oil filters is.. Owners don't clean them.. They leave them for 2 years and dirt packs on dirt. You end up "dusting" your engine cylinders..
And then on the opposite spectrum, those that wash the filter around the third time you start to see holes/sunlight thru the cotton...
My opinion the risk vs reward is to great. You can't feel the difference, the factory pleated filter is VERY good.

No offense what so ever to the OP, but it's funny to me how some still try to push aftermarket filters as "mods". Probably aimed at the same market demographic that goes for homepathy, colloidal silver and blood type diets.

Off topic but Filters are almost like which oil you use. I recently switched from Mobil 1 to Motul 8100 oil. The only thing I have noticed so far are two things. Less Mezger noise and no white smoke so far on start up. I am serious about this. So for me it seems my buddies were correct.
