just to gain some perspective on the capabilities of the current M cars, while they are not a 911 or even a Cayman ...

I drove an M235i, M3 and M4 at Thermal last week, and then I drove a Dodge/y Challenger SRT and a "Petty's Garage" Mustang...

John Hindhaugh of Radio Le Mans fame said it best:

"I had a 3 piece suite that handled better than either of those..."

the best part was seeing was watching the instructor driven M3 pull into the
pits with its front (ceramic) brake pads actually on fire!

hahaha, that dentist NEEDS SERIOUS HELP.
he's too old for BMW.
max needs a BMW, you should see him at autopia lastnight at disney. embarrassing..
funny how pretty much every BMW dealer in the bay area seems to have an M4 GTS for sale at GT3 RS "over MSRP" premiums!

dealeritis, it's disease.
selling msrp is embarrassing.
must as 50k to it then they feel betta.

i was offered M4GTS msrp but the wing is too small.
i have to compensate for various things so my cars have very tall and wide wings

M235 is OK street car. my wife enjoys hers. I only like the fake engine noises piped into the cabin and the acceleration, it's a little hoon, oh and the red leather is nice.

Lots of tech monkey's up there with $ to burn! Gotta get the over!

LOL

You know you can get a lightly used 997.2 GT3 for that right? I really don't see the point

I can drive a GT2/3, Turbo, w.e. Porsche and get into certain BMW's and still enjoy them equally...different cars with different purposes, both do their design 'mission statement' very well...Porsche's make better sports/track cars, BMW does a better country road and highway bomber...

Disagree

An E46 M3 with good suspension and proper shifter/LWFW make great track cars. Easy to run, neutral handling, good power. Many GT classes of amateur racing in NASA or SCCA are dominated by E36 or E46 M3.

Out of the box, stock for stock, GT3 wins hands down, but depends on your finances and how much risk you are willing to bear

That's a race car not a street car

Stock for stock GT tons faster and tons more durable

Exactly.

I can't imagine, on a stock e46 m3, the brakes lasting more than a few laps....he'll its got a tv and subwoofers in it!

I'm not talking about built e46 track cars obviously
