Very nice! I plan to do the welding or pinning myself. I also have an appointment with my Rupes polisher this weekend to get a nice paint correction done

Can you shed some insight on the financing process that you did? I know there is lightstream and a few others but I have no experience with them.

If easier you can PM me thanks!

Loving this car so far!

Did a 15 hour paint correction on the car last week in my garage and installed an RSS bypass this Saturday night at a friend's shop. The paint came out better than I could ever imagine and the bypass makes this car scream.

Attended the last cars and coffee until next year as well:

Put 250 miles on the car since getting it a few weeks ago. The weather is turning for the worse in PA and the salt and cinders are all over the roads now so it was time for a final wash and to be tucked away in the garage until Spring.

If anyone was wondering an E39 5 series car cover fits basically perfect for the 997.1 GT3, haha. I had the cover for my 1995 M3 with LTW wing and decided to give it a try on the GT3 for the fun of it since I didn't buy an indoor cover yet. Maybe I will stick with it haha.

I came from a 2003.5 E46 M3 that had lightly been modded (mostly suspension). I only went to a 997 C2S and the jump was amazing and unregrettable. The 911 drives so much different, I bought the 911 before I sold my M3, so I was able to go back and forth. the M3 felt tall, soft and lacked road feel compared to the 911. I know the M cars are supposed to be among the best in those areas, but the 911 will take it to a whole new level and then the GT3 another level from there.

And lets be honest, for the general public the E36 is kind of cool, but in reality, you really have to be a BMW fanboy to really appreciate. They lack any distinctive body work, the motor is a detuned dog and it really isn't that special by todays standards unless you love all things M (my dad had an E36 M3 with a bunch of Dinan internals, exhaust, headers, intake, etc.... Compared to his 911s and NSX, the thing was just OK). Not to dis the E36 too much, but it is no GT3. Now if you are talking E46 CSL vs a 997.1 Base 911, thats a different story.

An e30 m3 cover also works on a .1 narrow body but the side view pockets are in the wrong place

^^THIS^^ I've just waved the white flag on my second driving season with my 997.1GT3, and I remember the first drive like it was yesterday. Expecting a faster, more serious version of my '00 Boxster S (which I loved), the GT3 was and is on an entirely different planet. I was flat-out shocked (and a little freaked out) when I first got on it. It was so fast, loud, and visceral... It really has exceeded my expectations in every way.

OP, enjoy the car! Too bad, like me, you're a bit of northerner. Glad you got to enjoy it a bit before winter got too serious for you. It is currently 5deg here in Milwaukee
