Most of them 991 guys have no idea what it's like as 991gt3/Rs is there first experience in the world of gt cars thanks to pdk. They do not know what they are missing nor do they care.

I have the means for a 991rs but have no interest in it.
I currently own both and since owning the 991 GT3 have put my 997.2 GT3 for sale because I never ever drive it anymore.
Take that for what it's worth.

This.
I've spent quite a bit of seat time over the weekend in a 991 GT3 (again)...it is so clinical compared to my 997.2 RS. Jumping back and forth between the 2 was a revelation. While I can appreciate the engineering and refinement of a 991, it just simply does not deliver the drama and connectivity that I get from the 997. Forget about the differences between the manual vs. PDK debate, the steering feel is so much better in the 997.

Maybe if I use the car as a daily driver, I would appreciate the 991 GT3 more...but that's not what I use the car for.

Hey Raj,

Just for arguments sake, suppose the 7.2-3 was Riviera Blue, and the 991 was Speed Yellow. Would that change your view?

i am opposite, the lwt steering on 991 RS is the best part of it. serene and quiet so i can feel eeryting. the not so quiet steering of 997RS distracts me and the delicate steering of early cars that everyone drools over is something i simply do not understan

dont be foolish, yellow is always faster than blue. i kept my pts blue RS3.8 or 3 weeks.

First time I've ever heard someone preferring less steering detail and feel. I actually think the 997 steering weight is light however and transmits all the information very delicately (this is what I love), and so maybe that's what you're referring to...it transmits too much info?

At any rate, certainly understand that there's no right or wrong. Great to have choices.

Nope, I really like the 991. It's paddle shift, which I love. Also the engine revs much quicker and makes amazing sounds at 9k rpm.

"Most" 991 guys have 991 GT3 as their first GT car experience ???
Please tell me where your facts come from ?
Like rajdatta I've owned 997 GT3RS 3.8 AND 991 GT3 at same time (see avatar)....drove back to back to back many times....sold RS because the 991 GT3 is the better car. Faster, higher cornering speed, still rattles & shakes at idle, etc.
Suggest you buy one and live with it.....if you still like your 997 better, great; stop telling everyone it's the better car when you haven't owned a 991 GT3
To the OP...good luck with your search, can't go wrong with any GT3 (I've had 3...)

Well, maybe a small bit of exaggeration however here in Silicon Valley the 991gt3 is the techies/millennials wet dream that's within reach and PAG cannot crank them out fast enough just like housing. Pay a visit to any number of c&c in the valley and the 991 is just a different crowd wearing jeans tighter than my wifes and too young to know, or just do not care what a 993, 964, 996, 997 is, they are just old cars that's frustrating to drive because of the whole manual shifting thing.

They are more interested in the bluetooth connection than the GT connection. Flappy paddles are a natural fit, and quick as we all know, the rear wheel steering does wonders for agility on any platform too, just like it did on the 88 Honda Prelude. Do they have 4wheel steering on cups?

Sure there are veterans that own and prefer 991GT3, and there are those that do not. Its all personal preference.

This thread derailed, but its entertaining.

I bought the 991RS mainly because I wanted to win the DE cup...my 997RS couldn't keep up with the 991 GT cars.

I know, we all remember how you bitched and moaned to claw your way into one. Glad it worked out for you.
