Is it sad I'm going the other way and my 997RS may be the most modern porsche I own (outside my cayenne and maybe a GT4?????)????

Maybe I'm getting old and jaded, or maybe I've found that:
  • The antiques are stupid fun on the street, a workout, and a treat to drive, at THEIR limit which mostly is lower than GO TO JAIL limits
  • My 997 has a massive amount to teach me on the track, no nannies (TC off), I really don't want additional intervention helping me to be faster, i want ME to be faster.

That said, if a GT4 clubsport was available NOW for what they are asking (w/o the series commit) I'd have one in a heartbeat.

I actually like it. Maybe I am going soft since my DD is a base manual 991. The RS engine is fit in the car, the redline has been dropped, I am sure the suspension is GT derived, it does have LWB, possibly the G50 transmission, the 'modern GT3?'

In any case, I am waiting for the manual to be transplanted into the 991.2 GT3 to see if I can like it enough to buy it. .1 stays in the family.

Ok, fit the RS wing, maybe it's sweet.
But it's not a GT car regardless and not an RS.
Absolutely MEH. +1

This message sounds like me listening to myself speak to myself in my mind. My RS is still pretty new to me and has been in storage since Nov, so we have a lot of "relationship building" still yet to do.... but I really did go for my car because it was a stick and it didnt have all the electronics and things like rear wheel steering, etc. Ok, the new 991RS is much faster, but I dont really care and dont see myself all that interested in any of these new offerings.

For a clubsport I would make the jump.

I love manual, but I'm not 100% against PDK. The rest of that package is just so sweet for track duty.

I'm late to this party; what's the redline in the R?

Thx,

Vivian

We have all seen pictures of you using your kids for slave labor cleaning the car and garage. I would bet they are properly trained in the use of scissors. Get one of them to make it for you so they can add their mark to your car

Which 4.0 engine is this going to have? 997 4.0 or 991 4.0?
