Default GT4 dynos 401hsp at the wheels.

Last night our region (Riesentoter-Philly area) had our monthly meeting at Fabspeed in Ft Washington, PA. They usually have one of the customer cars on the dyno for us to experience.
Last night the showed us a GT4 with their "race" headers, no cats, and thier xpipe.
Thought some of you might be interested in this information.

Do you know if there was a baseline pull done?

Tuned or untuned?

It was great to have you all over here! Now that the word is out, yes we did break the 400whp barrier We will have an official release shortly, but what we have done so far is the following

Race Headers
Valvetronic System
BMC Filters
Cobb Accessport
Custom Fabspeed Protune (389whp at this point)
IPD Plenum
82mm Throttle Body (400whp without retune at this point)

We are currently waiting for the Cobb Accessport paired with the vehicle to arrive at our facility to tune for the IPD/TB upgrade but we have hit the mark we are looking for

This makes sense... on track experience is the GT4 is pretty on par with the 997.1 GT3/RS generation.

I'd like to know the baseline on their dyno... I'll ask my shop what they're seeing too.
401 wheel on a 385 crank rated engine is a huge gain.

3.6gt motor is rated at 415 and my car rated 408 whp on 100 octane w/ cobb tune 91 tune was in the 380s IIRC.

We saw 348whp peak as our baseline. Here is a graph of just the race exhaust system additions showing the baseline and our best performance gains before the addition of tuning and the IPD Plenum/82mm TB.

Exciting!

On A Dynojet my .2RS was just under 410 to the wheels....so that's impressive!

I dont have any specifics to the Dyno demonstration we saw, and I am not endorsing FS other than they are local and I know some of them and if anything they are honest and upfront. I did have their exhaust set up on my C4S, but do not have any of their products on my 2 cars.
I can tell you it was race car loud and I would not think you could drive this set up to the track but maybe at mild cruising speed it would be ok.

Why the big dip in power and torque around 3,600rpm in stock trim?

Many thanks for your review tgil. For reference the exhaust system on the GT4 that you heard running at full tilt is a valvetronic system. You heard the system only with the valves open, and with the valves closed it before Much less harsh through the resonator assemblies

We eliminated this dip with the addition of our full exhaust combination, therefore the power dip is caused by the factory exhaust. Why Porsche decided to do that is up to interpretation.

Congrats on the nice result. I do wish the graphs would extend to higher revs though (particularly since the factory power peak is supposed to be 7,400 rpm, well past the test revs). Would be interesting to see the results to redline (7,800 rpm) and see how the various systems compare up there.

Please review post #22 of our main exhaust thread below. The car was run all the way out, but we did not receive the remaining data based on RPM, but based on the MPH. Either way, the data acquisition has been updated, and the 400whp dyno results will have graphs showing the remainder of the powercurve
