I would pass on that one due to the DME. Some the Range 3s were 10 hours ago, and that DME will always hold the value back.

Hey folks

As mentioned I'm looking for a GT3 for some fun in the mountains near my home. I have a 991GTS but miss the smaller car. I'd like to buy a 997.2 GT3 that will have as little financial downside as possible.

Porsche Denver has a 2010 with some mods https://www.porscheofcoloradosprings...co-id-29554971

Shift has a 2011 near stock, slightly fewer miles, for $9k less. http://www.shiftbespokeautomotive.co...rnia/47015949/

Any opinions?

Kevin

Here is what I think, If I was shopping for 7.2 GT3 I would give Doug at Switchcars a call and say find me the best car you can in your price range. This is what he does for a living. If you are confident in your own ability to determine if you have found a clean car than that can be enjoyable. But a 100K is a pretty good poke for most people and cash outlay can escalate in a hurry if you miss something.

I think the question I have is the car in Denver has some mods, and I'm concerned it could effect the value of the car negatively.

This is what's listed:

There was also a GMG center muffler bypass and high-flow headers with catalytic converters installed. Braided stainless brakes lines were fitted to the car and a Guard Transmission LSD kit was installed; 40% lockup during acceleration and 60% lockup during deceleration. Suspension upgrades including GMG world cup dog bones, world cup bump / toe steer kit front and rear, world cup coffin / thrust arm bushing kit front and rear, world cup a-arm monoball kit front and rear, world cup GT3 RS anti-roll bars, Tarrett Engineering adjustable drop links, and Rennline front strut tower brace have also been fitted to the car.

Curious if anyone is familiar with or has seen this car in person. Higher miles but priced accordingly: https://www.velocitymc.com/vehicle-d...20862cd0860285

Ok, I'll bite. That is probably a track car. Not good or bad just requires more homework. Yes, it will effect resale when it's time to sell. If you find the right buyer who values those changes you will be fine. But most will use that info against you on pricing and label it a track car. Putting everything back to stock to sell is the best solution but it will cost you money to do so. All recalls performed? Updates? Track hub overhaul? Do you know the track miles?

.... the Colorado track car will suffer depreciation especially at that initial sale price for you. The Shift car looks low on options, which may or may not be what a future buyer might want,... but one thing is for certain a white low MSRP car will not be something a future buyer will decide to pay a premium on. So as an investment I would say neither.
