Ad the fact that it's only got 18k miles and that's worth a nice chunk of change also. some say $1.00 per mile and some say less. I have no idea but that white .1 at that price seems spot on in my book price wise.

Car: 120,000
Seats: 8,000
PCCB: 10,000
Elbow, Pic and LSD: 8,000

Total $146,000

Add you mileage bonus and you've got your total. I'd only want to pay $145,000 for the car max.
Buddy of mine looking to switch from his GT4 to a 997 is in talks with seller. They say they have 3 others not yet listed.

You are and never will be a real buyer. The market dictates what anything is worth, your logic is flawed and as such, you are not a real buyer. It’s the same as saying, I only think X is worth X, nope, that’s not how any of this works.

Maybe someday, when the prices come back down, I'll be able to pick one up. Didn't mean to strike a nerve in you.

Not to fan the flames, but why would they? Honestly? It’s a halo car for just about every P enthusiast; there are very few of them available, and fewer still in superb condition; the luxury and exotic market has already begun to correct for other models (but not 997GT); it seems to have the same trajectory and demand factors as sought-after air-cooled; and I suspect they’ll only get more praise as cars continue to trend away from ICE. I can’t see an argument for them coming down. People have been saying that about air-cooled for what, 15 years?

So, why shouldn’t they be more expensive??
In my mind — there will never be a better 911 than 997GT — .1, .2, RS, 4.0
this sounds a bit fanboy-ish talk tbh. Have you driven all in all kinds of roads/condition/weather/use case, I know one man does & he's selling 4.0rs & drives 992

You like the how one member is incredibly rude to another member? I don't get that or the want for any drama in a place where we are all supposed to be on the same team. Was my thread that offensive for another member to lash out like that. There is something else going on that has nothing to do with me.

Car choices are always individual decisions. A Chrysler Pacifica is a better car than a Ferrari if you have 5 kids you need to get to soccer practice 3 times per week. I don't think @seis-speed was saying the 997 is the best car for everyone. I think he was simply saying that from a driving standpoint, the 997 generally offers a purer experience. Again, that doesn't mean it should be everyone's choice, but generally, I agree that the market trend seems to value them this way. Add the fact that production numbers were significantly lower, over a decade has passed since the last one was made, and now you have supply/demand economics supporting higher valuations.
