Those numbers are very close, but not quite accurate. The actual numbers for US-invoiced cars are below. That being said, some that were originally invoiced for Canada were delivered to the US, and vice-versa, which may explain the slight discrepancy in my current numbers vs. Porsche's original sales reports.
The numbers are:
997.2 RS: 544 delivered to the US (71 to Canada)
997.2 GT3: 654 delivered to the US (56 to Canada)

Nope - search MJones posts on GT3 production for 997.2 GT3s. Remember that the bottle neck for production for this car was the Mezger engine. A far more involved motorsport build process then the 991.
