Yes, the internals are indeed different and the 997TT Mezger motors ended with model year 2009. Replaced by a 9A1 in 2010.

Than the 9A1 engine? For the next 911 are the still using the 9A1 internals and downsizing them to 3.0 liters. Or does the newer smaller engine now have a different designation.

you can run some searches to sort of figure this out.
i think you can subscribe to them to get info more easily too.

Thanks Saru385. I couldn't remember that site and that was what I was looking for. I wish they provided the VIN along with options but lots of great info!

no problem. can't speak to the ultimate accuracy of that site, but lots of fun numbers to look at.

still can't believe there are only like 15 Aqua Blue 997.2 GT3s in North America.
about to hit 50k miles on mine!

Honestly, I had 0 idea they even made the GT3 in Aqua Blue until recently.
