Hmm - I said that wrong - no doubt it's maintained well, but what broke or was replaced to take it to that mileage? If the car got to that mileage with just regular maintenance items (like oil changes, plugs, transmission oil changes, etc..) that is quite good.
The funny thing is, that coming from the air cooled world, mileages over 120,000 miles for instance are not unusual, and examples of 300,000+ miles exist, so when I hear that a GT3 has high mileage with say 40,000 miles is pretty funny to me.
Cheers,
Mike

'Shopped.
Lol
Killer. Commend the owner! Thanks for sharing. You've just increased the market value of my 40k car at least 20% demonstrating they don't die at 40k.

I personally believe a well maintained Mezger will run to 200,000+ miles.
With coolant fittings pinned, routine plugs and coils along with water pump replacement and it should keep going like a well maintained 993.

^^^ think the valve train may be a limiting factor on miles, guides are short and wear due to high rpm plus piston skirts are a bit short so Metzger might turn into a smoker at high miles 120k+ would be my guess. Major failures like crank or rods unlikely until 200k+ with care.

Well, out here in rural Nebraska, having just run the Sandhills Challenge, my son Chris driving my wife's turbo Countryman Mini, the small four door car, I sure hope the GT car's are reliable, as right now I don't know what is ailing our own '07 GT3 back in KC.
I will soon post what the Challenge is like, truly unlike any sort of road course. Chris ran our little Mini hard and fast, caught up with a Shelby Mustang and a new 'Vette at about 22 miles into each back and forth run. I signaled corners for him. We are both really impressed with the poise that little four cylinder has over hills and around dips and blind corners. Maybe it was the 100 octane gas we fueled it with. Lots of fun and comraderie, got to see a Gallardo (turbo'd ?) run 228 in the standing mile.
I surely do hope GT cars have great reliability, as our's has so far proven troublesome.
All the best....
