Default Looking to buy a few 997.1 GT3 Parts - Carpet Panel and OEM Rotors

I just had my 997.1 GT3 delivered and there are a few OEM parts that I'm looking for. My car is currently with Chasen at SP Motorsports in Hayward, CA while he fine tunes it. I'll upload some pictures once I get it back and detail it.

Here is what I'm looking to buy.

1) Rear Carpet Panel OEM-99755103300A10
- Rear black carpet panel where the roll bar was mounted has two holes and I need a new one. The lowest price I found was $320 from Sunset but hopefully somebody has one laying around.

2) New OEM front/rear rotors
- I'd like to replace the heavily micro-cracked rotors. They look like crap and squeal like I'm stepping on a cat while I pull up to a light. While on Sunset they recommend a 996 PN for the rotors so I'll have to call them tomorrow to verify. I'll probably go with Hawk pads until I start doing some DA events.

Planned Mods:
Black GT3 emblem... I'm not feeling the red logo.
Powdecoating wheels black
New steering wheel - Extra thick, flat bottom, RS stripe
New OEM shift ****
New rock guard
Valentine 1
Lloyd floor mats
iSimple Tranzit Bluetooth
LED license plate lights
LED interior lights
DEPO LED tails
LED DRL/FOG

brian,

i have the carpet piece. but same price as suncoast. btw, the do not have it in stock. i DO ;-)
i do not think there are any in USA at the moment. it's about 20' from your car right now.

7.1RS iron rotor is same as 996gt3 rotors (front), so maybe your is the same.

squeak is not due to rotors but pads.
you dont want hawk, you want ferrado, pfc, endless (all noisy) unless you go with OEM.

dont worry about the squeak, you will get used to it and wont hear it any more.

Squeaky brakes are pads. OEM pads squeal. if you're just doing street, grab a set of trw or textar... they won't squeal. I use Brembo / Race Technologies TS20 for street, they are quiet and really light dust.

As long as your car didn't come with pccb converted to iron... they are 350mm front and rear rotors. These are the factory part numbers for 997.1 GT3 wit iron brakes. Not sure if 996 are cross compatible.

I did just look at suncoast and these are your rotors:
Front: http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...3BRAKECASTIRON

Rear: http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...3BRAKECASTIRON

Good prices, the .2 rotors (which I use as mine was pccb and uses same setup as .2) are 2x the price.

SOLD!

SONNEN Porsche said there is one available... in the world right now at $305. I'll take the one off your hands if you don't mind

Maybe toss it in the back of my car and I'll drop the cash off with Chasen next Friday when I pick up my car. If you'll be around his shop I should be there around noon after I arrive back from Japan.

I can get over the squeaky noises of my brakes but since my AC is making funky hissing noises I'm not using it right now and riding windows down. Hopefully a AC recharge will correct the noise. The first thing my GF said was you spend how much on this car and the AC sounds like this?!?!?

Thanks a lot for the PN's and pad recommendation, I'll probably go with the TRW's in front and Hawk ceramic in the rear. Its not a top priority to do brakes since mine are OK for now but maybe something around Christmas, a to me from me gift.

Tell her you just picked up a high maintenance girl who she's going to need to share budget with :-)

My wife stopped asking questions years ago. We have a mutual understanding on such matters. I don't ask about the stacks of bags from her Tokyo shopping sprees and she doesn't ask when the UPS guy shows up multiple times a week with boxes of stuff that quickly make their way to the garage.

I miss living in Orange County but I've really enjoyed living in San Francisco. If only the tech industry hub would be located in SoCal... That would be heaven! I'm excited to meet the people in the local Porsche community in the near future.

i don't even know if i'm considered a techie anymore. i'm in the industry that put the "silicon" in Silicon Valley. can't code or make an app to save my life. going out like the dinosaurs.

as for SoCal, San Diego area is tolerable...
