GT2 engine limit
Hello,
Iam trying to find out what is the whp limit for my 2009 GT2 engine before I need to modify/upgrade it.. Right now iam @ 545 rwhp.
My near future plan is to be @ 640-750rwhp. My use is mostly for street not track.
Iam new to this platform and I need more eduction about it.

Modify what? The internals? These can make big power with turbos exhaust and a proper tune Before top or bottom or tranny mods required.
Where are you located. Might be best to visit a shop or two that knows this platform.

660PS is about 560RWHP on a Maha dyno with a 30 second loaded dyno run. If you are doing one of these popular (with certain tuners) 8 second dyno runs I've no idea what that rwhp equates to.

Yes, I mean the internals. I would like to have a safe engine that can Handle up to 700rwhp with no issues.

It depends how you are using your car. If you have access to the Autobahn and spend a lot of time at full torque load in higher gears then the safe limit is 660PS/830NM even at this level rods have been know to bend if the torque is used in 6th gear a lot.

So, if I chose to change rods and Pistons + other needed parts the engine will be fine with ~650-750 whp. Correct?
What about the block itself? How much hp can a stock block hold?
BTW my street use is 40/60 mph to 150/165 mph runs and driving around the streets where I live with no traffic jam. Also, occasionally staying at 170mph about 45 seconds or a minute on open hiyway( like autobahn ).

If you are based in Qatar then I'd say your biggest challenge to putting down some real BHP is heat management. Except for maybe 2 months a year, the ambient temps we experience in the M.E. are higher than most places in the world where tuners design and build their engines. Unless you have access to a mezger guru in Doha, i think you should be prepared for an element of frustration through frequent limp modes etc, in the search of extra horses. I've seen a few Gt2's ruined in Dubai through poor modding, so please be careful should you go down that route.

I would contact Betim at BBI. He's probably one of the most experienced tuners with the GT1 platform. I have seen many GT1's push that power and even to 4 digits on stock internals that have proved reliable. Tom at Champion did a Stress test on the rods and they were fine up to the power level you are trying to achieve.
Your GT1 block is one tough cookie, and will amaze you at the power it can handle reliably.
