Pdk would probably bore me to death. Doing a money shift is priceless : ). Seems like majority are keeping in automode for track. Boring track videos. Who doesn't like videos of heel/toe to perfection or heel/toe like ****. Love watching mt guys track videos. Yeah I understand it's a faster transmission but it was derived for the street first- not the other way around. Mike

I like the 991 RS look a lot. But it is not a real RS in my eyes. Kind of gimmicky. Why put up such huge downforce at the back where it'll be so difficult to balance it in the front? PDK? Not convinced yet. Drove another PDK car today, it was the same as it ever was. Car is perfect, does it all very nicely, but 0 rewards. Sorry Porsche. Give us our imperfect manual back and you have my business.

Think the front fender "cut outs" provide the down force needed in the front for balancing the rear.

Yes, but the consensus is that it's not enough.

Mixed feelings on the new RS. Love the looks of the 991 GT3 and now the RS. Don't like how cars keep getting bigger with every generation. Don't like the demise of the manual. Don't like that there isn't a decent step up power wise compared to the last 4.0RS.

I'm not against advancements in technology, just as long as the driver is still an integral part of the experience. I'm sure it is with this car, but for everyday driving you do lose some of the special feeling when you don't have a manual. With a bit of hesitation, I drove a friends 991 GT3, as I was worried that I would want one over my .2 RS. At the end of the drive I was happy to still prefer my .2 RS, for a big part because of it having the manual transmission. To get the same level of satisfaction out of the 991, you have to be driving much closer to 10/10's, since the speed comes so much easier with the PDK. That is fine if you are primarily tracking the car, but doesn't make sense if you are using the car on the road a lot too, where you have to be at more sensible speeds.

Like others have mentioned, if going to 'flappy paddles', there's also other cars I'd start considering, such as the 430 scuderia. The .2 RS will be a keeper, and down the line I'll likely need to make a decision as to which flappy paddle car to add to the stable, and it very well may be the new RS.

I guess the big difference is that since day 1, I've always lusted after a GT3 RS (996, 997.1, 997.2). With the new one there is no more lust, and I don't think it's just because I was finally able to take care of that craving with the .2 RS.

Consensus of internet forum speculators? The car has not been released for press/media drives!

I do not want the RS because it is not a manual.

I do not want the GT4, because it does not interest me more than my 6 GT3.
