I have a 2008 gt3, I am the second owner and purchased the vehicle with 6000 miles on it. I noticed it topped out at 175 mph.hitting the rev limiter.when i questioned the dealer about if the previous owner changed the gears and they said no.I ended up knowing the owner and asked him and he said he never did anything to the vehicle. The mechanic that services it at the dealer said it has cup car gears in it.has anyone else had anything like this happen? i really like it with these gears,it just revs a little higher on the highway, but it is very quick in the first three gears.

I thought the top speed was 194. I drove a 997.2 the same day at the dealer and felt .1 was snappier,in lower gears.the salesman said the 3.6 revs quicker than 3.8.but when i told him what its revving at 80 mph he questioned the mechanic who serviced it and said porsche probably didnt have anything but cup car gears laying around and threw them in. LOL. at 175 it had hit the limiter. The dealer wants to get me into a 2015 and offered me $10000 more than i paid for it 2 years ago.with 15000 miles but i like rowing through the gears. and like the smaller style and the fact mines almost paid off.

I agree. The dealer had two 991s that they ordered and told me that both had issues with financing .The first one that happened to, the original owner of my car ended up purchasing it.trading in a panamera i believe. The second one has a window sticker of $175000. I think buyers may be waiting to see if RS comes with a manual. The .1s are animals, your right about the .2s being more refined suspension wise I drove them back to back and just felt like the.1 was quicker and more alive. I dont plan on selling it .Its a keeper. I have a 87 930 that ive had for 18 years. My wife thinks im becoming a horder. These 911s are like family LOL.If porsche doesnt offer a manual in a gt3 or rs again ours will be worth alot of money.

Here's a 70K mile 997-1 GT3 starting at $71K in Canada: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-GT3-/321704453887
It will be interesting to see if that sells (or even gets an opening bid). Its a sellers market. May as well swing for the fences. Us buyers need more Fritz's in this world

Looks to be in great condition for the miles.

That's a lot of miles for a Canada car... Figuring you can drive it 6mnths of the year (if you're lucky), over 8 years that's about 1,500mi / month (or ~50mi per day 7 days a week).

Not sure that is what "us buyers" need.

My daily drive is 4 miles round trip to the train station.
Even so I managed to drive 2500 miles last year on weekends only. I will shoot for more this year.
This cars are great on the track, but even better on the highway.

I put 9000 on mine in 2 years, my office is 30 miles from home. 26 of them being highway. Its the sound,I love when I leave late and the highways clear of traffic. The only car that came close to the sound was a friends F355.But from inside the gt3 sounds better.Outside its close.
