Can you PM me pics of your car? I'm going to be looking for a 997.1 soon.

I'm on the market for one, but at 90k, the 991S at 75-80k with warranty may be the smarter choice... but I'm buying with heart
100k-105k for a 997.2? I haven't seen one that low in months (that isn't big mileage)

It's condition. Not .1 vs .2. The hp diff is minimal.

Would you rather have a .1 with 10k miles or a .2 with 30k?

Those who know stick with the .1. Why else are there so few .1 cars for sale compared to .2 cars, even if .2 cars were less imported. Almost no performance benefit between the .1 and .2. In my opinion the .1 looks better also. I've owned both. Will take the .1 over the .2 anyday. A faster revving 3.6 compared to the 3.8, a rawer suspension (yes I mean more difficult to drive correctly), and a crazy feeling that you're in a water cooled 993 car. Can't beat it.

There are a fair # of .1s out there

Craig's list is the new autotrader of the world: http://claz.org/classifieds.html?q=Porsche+2007+GT3

The cars drive the same once you change the susp but yes I'd agree that the .1 susp needs more setup and there is no replacement for being in the 993 VW LOL

Overall I'd take the 3.8 and have the harmonic issue fixed, add some normal 5 bolt hubs and be happy that it's FASTER and it's not minimal if you keep your right foot down. However I don't think it's worth 20k more.

I couldn't live with that taco wing and I'd want to add some front bumper screens to the .1

OH and the biggest issue for me is the sunroof...............YUCK!!!!!!

.1 GT3 wing is so much better than .2. .1 looks better than .2 overall. There are some views of the .1 that just make you smile. Keeper!

Yes. That's something new and what I posted to start the thread. Still there are less .1 cars for sale compared to .2 cars. Noticed this way back when I sold my .2 and was looking for a .1 car. I keep watching all the classifieds and have noticed that recently there are more .1 cars for sale, but yet still less than .2 cars.

10 of those 33 cars are not even GT3s. A few more are RS cars. and there are many normal .1 GT3 listed above 100K. Seems some would like to dump their car for 2007 MSRP.

Bingo. Don't want to continue a **** match btw .1 and .2, but since prodded ....I cannot stand the sunroof...that by itself is a deal killer.

But let me go on a bit....Driven both .1 and .2 extensively but obviously my choice is .2...we all have opinions but personally, I can't understand how one could prefer a .1. Want more "raw" experience?...you're not even close with a 997.

Reason why there are less .1's for sale is that many are too far gone...tracked and high mileage for them to be worth selling based on what they could fetch, and the market has spoken in price difference between .2 and .1. If perceived market value goes up a few percentage points, there are plenty of .1 sellers who will come of the the woodwork...just look at the threads in page 1 of this forum alone. Let's just be friends and agree that the 997 series GT3/RS is one hell of a car....because the rationalization for the case of .1 over .2 is laughable to me.

Isn't the wing the only real difference in looks?

.2 wing isn't a good looking wing either but it's better looking to me and has greater down force so it's a win win.

Some love the 996, some love .1 or .2 but everyone loves an RS of any flavor and that we can all agree on

The front bumper is different also. The .1 and the 991 GT3 are similar.
