For $186K you'd think they'd clean up the front end at least a little bit...

Or inflate the tires properly...

Guess it's too much to ask.

$186K frog and $156K pumpkin, the best color schemes in RS-dom.

Funny how much color and miles seem to affect asking prices. I'm about to help a neighbor move his black 997.1 RS and was looking at the three similar cars currently on eBay for pricing info. For those with similar mileage to his (<7k), the asking price seems to be $150k whereas a car with 17k miles has an asking price of $125k.

My car hit 20k miles last month. I took a picture and put it on IG with the caption "losing $10k never felt so good". Guess my estimate was a little light!

Beautiful green car- agree that you would think they would at least throw a tow hook cover on it at that price.

In the other thread the salesmen from PNH said those pics were taken before they went over the car. Beautiful car, and hopefully a real enthusiast gets their hands on it and drives it because seeing one on the road is a treat

Agree. I've actually never seen a green one in person.

Ha! Awesome. I park my white .1 (15k miles) next to a green one (RS) with 2k miles. Weird to think that what? 100k usd separates the two? Same engine. Same gearbox. Same seats. No thanks. Non Porsche guys can't even tell the diff between the two and aside from that one is green. (Hard to imagine but my Ferrari owning friends literally looked at me like "what's the difference?")

As for the color, I think it's very cool but it's not an obvious choice for me over a more pedestrian color that can be aggressive but not as flashy. Especially is there is a premium and especially if said premium is a multiple. I guess part of this multiple is for the rs moniker but it is clear that the froggies around here people love.

But whatever. How many Porsche's do you have? Do you actually drive it? Where do you live? What is your holding period? All of these questions are different for everyone and hence why some people prefer some things to others.

That said, I do think the Porsche market is being manipulated by a lot of factors. Including fan boy boards like this where unicorns, become uber planetary alien unicorns overnight. This is exactly what happened to the rsa market as an example. I wonder how many people have actually paid 100k+ for one in the last year. I would bet 3. What about the 3.6 964 market? Asking prices from 250-325 right? The real buyers are all below 200k. For the 3.3 below 100. Last time I checked autotrader for regular 964 there were 90 cars listed. ALL DEALERS.

PNH was so excited to get this thing in the market they didn't even wait to do the PDI correctly as you guys point out.

In 10 years time mileage won't be too much of a factor; other than the uber low mileage cars, there will be reasonable parity in prices. In the meantime, he who drives the car is getting the better value, in my opinion. I for one will drive the snot out of my RS, 'cause there'll come a day when driving these cars will be beyond us and I'll part with $10/20/30k all day long for the sweet taste of life that comes with that driving experience.

It would pain me to have a low milage car that I was afraid to use. I guess there are car guys and there are collectors. To each his own.

I'd make a lousy collector, no way I'm not going to drive 'em.

There's no way someone is going to pay a green premium and then drive the crap out of it. May as well buy a more common color with 20K miles for far less $$. This will go to a collector and will be bubble wrapped..

Colour and options go a long way.
