Default PFC08 Install question

Apologies for the cross post but tend to see that the GT3 group might know this given more track focus...

My car is 997.2 C2S that I am taking to the track in a week... Ordered PFC08 front and rear pads. Fronts slid right in but the rears seem to have two "ears" that look like the caliper has to come off to have the holes in the pad backing plate slide over.

Do PFC08s require removal of the rear caliper for install?

Thank you.

Gt3 rear calipers must be removed to install new pads.

Carrera S C2S does not require rear or front calipers to be removed to change pads. I have a set of PFC08 and they slide right in. You might have the wrong pad or the caliper Pistons are blocking and need to be pushed back.

The rear pads on some of the online fitment guides are wrong, the right part number is 0776.08.17.44 from PFC. They should slide right in no caliper removal needed. I had the same issue this spring, the fitment guide shows the 1299 as the right pad... Below is a picture of the original pad I was sent, I had the same issue you are having.

The proper PFC pad is exactly the same size and slides right in. The pad on top is the OEM the one on the bottom is the wrong pad from the online fitment guide.

Reorder the part number above and you will be good to go.

...and this is why I deal with Clark at Apexperformance.net he know PFC very well and if anything is wrong he's real quick to get it fixed.

Thanks Brian and Mike. The image Brian posted depicts the problem exactly. The PN sent from the invoice/box was the incorrect 1299 part number noted.

These sets were ordered from Clark with Apex Performance and very much enjoyed chatting with him earlier this week. While I remain rather quiet, I appreciate all of your helpful posts as I have read quite a lot of your experiences. Given the prior discussions of PFC08s, and high recommendation of Clark's help, I was hopeful that I would be able to skip the wrong part number problem. I trust that Clark will fix the problem Monday when Apex opens.

Glad I took the chance to get this car ready a week in advance. Since it has been many years from taking a street car around a track it is quite funny how much it reminds me of when I first started years ago.

Once more, thank you! Hope this gets corrected early this week.

Once they are on you can leave them on for street as well. Quiet and great breaking even on street without track temps.
