Default Chunky tire issues...

Any insight to what might be causing the below issues?

Rear left tire.
Michelin Pilot Super Sport
38psi hot after 1 lap cool down.

Happened mid way though the day at Putnam Road Course which is a clockwise track with a pretty coarse surface

Car is aligned to the below settings.
FRONT
-2.0 degrees camber, 0 toe, 8.0 degrees caster

REAR
-1.5 degrees camber, 14 minutes of total toe in

1st pic is of the area circled in blue. Pictures are after driving 200 miles home.

Putnam's surface tears the **** out of tires. That's pretty tame compared to how most tires look after a couple days at Putnam. Nothing to worry about, carry on.

TWS (our local track here in Houston) is pretty rough too, but Super Sports have a tendency to do this when ran hard. Problem seems to get worse with lower tire pressures, ie. below 36 hot. Not sure if problem is worse in winter or summer.

Last year I had a all four tires chunked badly after a full weekend leaning hard on them. Took them back to the local tire store, they called Michelin and gave me an 80% credit. 3-4 months later the same happened. No credit...

Ditto. TWS and other rough tracks are hell on tires. My wife can burn through Nittos at TWS in 4 days between the surface and sliding.

I have a 2 track weekends coming up and looking for a third so i am going to order a set of tires since they will be needed sooner or later.

My original/ideal plan was to go 10mm wider up front and keep the rear the same but it appears the rear 305 is on back order.....
Is 245/35ZR19 and 325/30ZR19 the plus size everyone gets for Pilot Super Sports?

I had the same issue with MPSP on my Cayman S at Calabogie. 3 track days and the sides were chunking like crazy. I moved to Yoko AD08 after that.

Yes, that's what these tires do. This is a friend's set, run hard at TWS (not mine, but mine do the same thing):

Op- those tires look real bad. I wouldnt run them at all even for street. Put it on craiglist now for $40 for whole set : ). Jk. Anyway rough surface tracks will do that. Still looks good to go though. I wouldn't hesitate driving them on track. Mike
