Default Pike's Peak Hill Climb

The Porsche driver's in the PPHC did an event at Porsche of Colorado Springs. This is pretty interesting -

Zwart will be in a Cup car with a GT2RS motor.
Dumas will be there, fresh from LeMans
Vincent Beltois will be in a GT3 RS
Chris Lennon will be in a 1969 RSR clone

I'll be there Sunday watching the runs up the mountain.

Several pics and a few videos of Zwart's turbo-cup. It's actually a custom built 3.8 turbo motor, not out of a GT2 directly, lot of other custom goodies too (built locally here in SoCal):

...now that its all paved. Would love to see that Japanese car that had two engines go for it again now.

You think Sébastien Loeb could have ran that 8:13.878 if the entire road had not been paved? Say like running the same course from 20 years ago?

That's such a great event...fun to see such custom made machines being pushed like that in a timed 'lap'. Best wishes to all Porsche drivers of course!

Zwart set a qualifing record and came second after losing due to a failed fuel pump.
The car is a serious contender.

The car was built in SoCal but the gearbox hails from Colorado.
Kind of bummed for Jeff. Car was so solid all week. Still a personal even if he's not in the 9 minute club. There's always next year.
