RMS repair denied under CPO because... of a modified exhaust not on the car anymore
Took my GT3RS in the Quebec City dealer for a RMS repair under CPO warranty. They asked Porsche for authorization and Porsche told them:
You can't repair this under CPO because the car used to have a modified exhaust (RSS X-pipe, but back to stock from the dealer before I bought it) and that is the cause of the leak. It should've been repaired before being CPO'd.
Car was bought at Pfaff in Toronto and CPO'd by them, then sold to my dealer who sold it to me.
Does this make any sense to you? Seems to me they are just trying every BS excuse to avoid paying that repair. Right now I'm having both dealers try to work it out.

crankcase vacuum and the lack of a center exhaust after the catalytic converter are not related... I would like to see the data they have showing that they are related? You might be able to say that crankcase vacuum is altered slightly by headers, or big cams, but not a center exhaust... Hence the reason you don't need a new tune for a bypass...

The only hope you have is to make friends with the Service Manager and hope he will share a beer or 2 at lunch. If he likes you he will go to battle for you....the problem is he will probably lose, as Porsche has lost it's way and has the worst customer service level ever at the corporate level. The above article is one of many horror stories evident with Porsche NA. You are screwed sorry to say....and it makes no sense.

FWIW, my car is about to go in for probable RMS. First question the service manager asked was whether the exhaust was stock. When I inquired why, he said there was a service bulletin out about it. Wondering if that is the genesis of the decision.

When in doubt, convert back to stock before going to the stealership to get warranty work done.

Have an issue with Porsche ? It's ALWAYS the customers fault
RMS leak ? Aftermarket exhaust or didn't drive the car enough
Centerlock failure ? Improper torque by owner or indie
Exploding clutch ? Must be track abuse
Rotors & pads gone on your VW, err Porsche SUV after 25k miles ? Because "High Performance" brakes
You would think they would learn after the M96 IMS debacle, but the on-going 991 GT3 issue proves they still haven't learned.
I've spent over $1M on Porsche's, don't think there will be another one in my future
