I'm staying with my Z/28 order because, well, that car just appeals to me at a primal, gut, level. But this Z06 w/Z07 package looks very tasty. There is no doubt in my mind it'll run at least $110k with all the goodies (visible carbon aero option, oh yeah).

Aside from the expected subjective opinions on what the feel of controls will be, it will offer an undeniably strong value proposition for the enthusiast driver. As a car guy and not a brand name guy, this looks to me to be the compelling choice for track guys.

GfrickenM, who would have ever thunk it just a a couple years ago. Great stuff.

Sounds fantastic....a street car with over 600 HP and 600 ft lb of torque......hope they offer an integrated roll cage

hope the stability control is Fiat quality, of we will see a bunch of chevys plastered in the Armco

Chevy fans need to reserve your custom license plate "WIDOW MKR"........it not only is for Porsche

Do any of you guys have any experience dealing with the Chevy dealer trying to buy their top performance car?
Do you need an allocation?
Do you have to deal with a bunch of slimeballs that are selling the rest in the Chevy lineup?
Are there any enthusiast salesmen among them?
Any recommended Chevy dealer around NYC,New Jersey,Pennsylvania?
Do you think they'll try to charge over MSRP?
Sorry for all the questions....
I can't believe I'm interested in this thing!
Do you think a dark color like black would make it look better?

interesting that they only went with 19's.....
wish they went to 18's, but I guess those don't look cool at cars and cafe

As a racer I like races without yellow flags....

Since the G50 derivative trans left the GT3.....few cars are actually running a race box, and even a GT3 has a cheapened up 996 cup box.....most all cars on Tudor have some sort of dog box....and I think those are fantastic, when I find $50k laying around I will have a Hewland in my race car.....but those time out so no chance in a street car

Lot of standard features enabling enhanced performance on the track.

Three levels of aero trim... seems excessive.

Still waiting for weight.

I normally get 23/30 track days/year instructing.

Not sure I want to take a 100K + car on a track that often.

Looks like GM went "All In", maximizing track performance given the limitation on legal and warranty issues. Hats off to the Corvette team.

1. Identify the 5 (or 10) largest dealers in US.
2. Contact their guy who posts on the forums.
3. Advise you want to place $1000 deposit and sign a buyers order with selling price noted on it.

Geographical location of the dealer is immaterial. Arrange for a courtesy delivery to a dealer near you. Or ship by carrier.

Same as with any make of car. Easy peazy. It's how I do it every time.

Yep,the way to do it for sure^ last time I bought a new Suburban, I did it over the phone, then when it came in made them bring it to my business so I didn't have to step foot on a showroom floor. Coming from the skateboard/snowboard side of things I dress a little more like Magnus Walker than P. Long and still get better treatment at the Porsche dealer.
