Actually, now that ithink about it. GM did just apply fora patent on a 7 speed DCT. Could make it as a late product cycle "ZR1" which will have all of the upgrades needed for homologation for the C7R.
A DCT would be the only way I think. But I'm still guessing against the zr1 moniker.

Still has that crazy 4 exhaust tip line-up.

I'd take this look any day over the stupid checkered flag stickers and red lipstick. At least the ugly bits on this car look to perform a function. My guess is that the splitter is partially removable for street driving which will make it easier to live with. I like where GM is going with the Corvette. Kudos to them for having the guts!

These are the first pictures of the new Z that I have seen and have to say that I'm actually quite impressed! The rear...eh, that I think is something that over time is just going to have to grow on me. As someone that tracks a current C6Z Carbon Edition (like Mikymu's but in orange instead of blue) I can only imagine the potential that the new version of the car is gong to have! Unfortunately vette's are a lot more common than the P-cars or F-cars and the typical owner has the reputation of being more of a waxer than a true automobile enthusiast but I think that often the performance of these cars is underestimated. Here is some video of a few laps that I took in my Z Friday at Thunderhill. This is only the second year that I've been tracking cars and I was on some pretty beat up Continental slicks with around 16 heat cycles on them so I'm sure that I'm still leaving some time on the table but it shows the potential that these cars have with just a few mods.

This C7 Z06 looks awesome and I bet performance on track will be the standard to beat.
For selfish reasons...I hope Chevy puts a DTC/PDK like transmission in it so I can buy one.
