My 2014 (1 of only 500 for '14) is due to be submitted into GM's system any day now. Production in March/April. Deliveries April/May. Haven't heard of any dealer getting more then one '14 allocation, and most got "0". Crazy stuff for a Chevy.
'15 will be only 1500 allocations/cars built.
I placed my deposit back in April.
Big shout out of appreciation to Mike Furman, Criswell Chevy in MD (MSRP dealer).

The C7 Z07 is undeniably appealing and will certainly be faster on a track than a Z/28, but it's not limited edition and approx 1 year away from being delivered. I don't buy cars on speculation of future value, but the Z/28 has a much greater likelihood of suffering minimal depreciation.
Figure rarely seen ZL1 Camaros sold over 10,000 units so far between '12 and '13, 2000 total Z/28's over two years is a minute build quantity and will let it hold value. Scarcity, as usual, being the primary determinate of value as with any commodity.
And the Z/28 will appeal on a gut level to some folks, as it does me. I really dig the new 'Vette but don't have desire to buy one, regardless of price.
As many of us appreciate, it is a fantastic time to be a performance car nut

Why do they have to make all these new cars so HEAVY. Darn safety regulations.

Man that video is wild. "Lurid power oversteer" is the phrase that springs to mind. Yowsers.
GM has earned every bit of good press they are getting the old fashioned way- by giving enthusiasts crazy good value and old-fashioned fun for the buck.

2011 Camaro production- 106,987
2012 Camaro production- 90,310
So even 3000 is only approx 3% of total Camaro production.
Agreed, we'll only know in 2016
Whoops- late edit. 3000 is expected max total 2 year production of Z/28, so my math should have been 3000/197,000, so not 3% but approx 1.5% of total model production.

Yes, I heard 2500 initially, then changed to 1500 for the '15's. I have no inside knowledge, but even 3000 total is a very small number. The determining factor seems to be the number of these hand-built, dry sumped LS7 427ci engines that can be built.
