After about 10-12 heat cycles, the Nitto NT01 become just as fast as an R6. At ~12-40+ heat cycles I own you on R6....which causes you to go buy brand "new" tires to keep up with me. By then, my NT01's are full slicks, just like the R6 and are almost as fast as a brand new R6, except I keep driving them until they cord.

If I'm fast, then I'm probably already faster than the R6 regardless of if they are new, or have a few heat cycles on them.

That's the dirty little secret NT01 owners know. For club racing/TT, of course, R6's make sense, but for DE's.....it's the WRONG tire.

Then I make sure I have a set of worn, "prime" Nittos for the events where I want to come right out and have maximum grip, and then scrub in a new set as my backups. This way I'm always prepared for you sticker R6 guys......

Watching that video of GT3DE and his comment of 25-30 HC on his H6... then I see how he can wheel a car. Wow. I'd wheel that thing right into a wall.

I won't get my BBS wheels until after the BMW CCA event so I'll bust out street tires for Saturday to make them think they have a chance and then I'll bust out with the R6s on Sunday.

I'm only getting 16-20 heat cycles out of my NT01s (4-5 days). The R6s felt a lot more grippy than the NT01s and I was within 6-7 seconds of the fastest cup cars at a 2.87 mile track (and I could have run another 1-2 seconds faster as I was running with nannies on).

I've been running R6 on the RSA and they are crap.
Using them up in Atlanta and will run nt-01 in Cali.

What about the front wheels? 8.5" for a 245 or 8"?

I use 9" fronts and 12" rears on nitto nt01 245/305. I think 8.5 will work OK.

What brand of wheels are you running?

I'm leaning towards OZ Allegeritas and Tire Rack only lists them up to 8.5" for the fronts.

Fikse profil 20 with slightly more aggressive offset than stock + slightly wider.

Tire rack will steer you the right way. Nitto lists suggested rim sizes on their site.

Bump...for the people running 245/40 NT-01's up front, what width rim are you using?
