Tire Rack is suggesting the Toyo Proxes R888 in 245/40/18 and 305/35/18.

I can also order the wheels from them and Nittos from another vendor but am curious about anyone with experience with the Toyos?
Any problem with the OZ wheels?

Thanks
Bill
Get the 9x18 et47 fronts...tires fit better offset give more front track width....they fit gt3 perfect....I even use these OZ's on my Carrera GTS.
Now....the Toyo R888....JUNK....Stay away from these tires. Tread seem splits, 888's heat cycle out quick...by at least 1/2 tread life. I've had plenty of 888's and I finally learned. Even the spec Mazda Miata series stopped using 888's.

Go buy some Nitto NT01 245/305 tires from discount tire. Just a. Awesome track tire that you can drive to events. Better grip than 888's by far...at Sebring I'm getting a 3 second difference and nt01's don't totally heat cycle out...they are great till the tire cords

I'm running 18 inch wheels without any cooling problems,

I will be ordering some new nittos for my first event at WGI in April and I can't wait especially with the snow storm pounding us right now...

I finally wore my nt01 down to the groove almost gone and swapped, and damn, they WERE the best once the outer tread disappeared. Really good (even though I'm still slow). Unfortunately I'm driving to track so I don't want to run them down any more, and probably have 1 more day on them. So new ones went on yesterday for event in a couple weeks.

Default 18" wheels to clear 380mm brakes

Edit: For focused response, opted to start new thread... https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...mm-brakes.html

This combines elements from several threads covering 5-lug conversion and wheel selection. Please respond in the referenced thread, thank you.

Good to hear cooling is not an issue.

I'll be at WGI in April as well.

Got 18 inches of snow in <24 hours here. Sure feels like I may need to run Pirelli Sottozero tires for that event.

This is 18" track tire related question...

I want to run 18" rcomp instead of slicks for .2 RS, but there doesn't seem to be any 1 tire model that fits properly. 315 NT01 is too narrow for 8x12 when combined with 245 front, isn't it? Do people just run 335 RA1 rear mixed with 245 NT01 front?

The 305-35-18 NT01 is big, and is as wide as the 335 RA1. I've laid both side to side, and is exactly why we lobbied Nitto to make the 305, so that EVERY 997 could use it, including RS. It's rolling diameter is also actually more ideal than 335 RA1.

305's Nitto's fit perfectly on 18x12" wheel. 245/305 is perfect setup.

I use them on my .1RS, and it works perfectly. Sure, you can use 335 RA1, but you are leaving grip on the table. New 305 Nitto has more grip than 7 year old 335 RA1. That's just a fact.

Sorry Peter, not trying to steal your tire sales.....

Mine are cheaperer and shaved so IMHO faster until the nt-01 wears down a bit as long as it cooler.

mvez is 100%
1. you need my BBS
2. buy RA1 from reter, i will get you good price from him, his car will be stored at my place in april. if he plans to have it back....
3. once you used up 335 RA1, run 305 nitto. it's pefect no electronic issues. chasen and i are both on 245/305 nittos.
problem solved.

and you will be using above combo at this coming sunday's drive. else, you will not have armando almond croissant.... i test tasted it. it's the best.
