Porsche 997 GT3 MKII Crashes at 160mph
Not sure if this was shared before, but quite a scary crash at 160 MPH in a 997 GT3!
He says there was some oil on the track, but I am not so sure... he seem to lift off right at the time he loses it, or maybe that was after he slid...
Glad he's ok.

Three Wheelin'
Looks like his left rear wheel goes off track and onto the grass, might have been some dampness in the area causing the rear wheel to spin out. Look at 31 seconds and line up the center of his car and the track, you'll see how far off he is.

Drifting
Back up the video to where he starts braking at about 28 seconds and it appears that he has all 4 on the track and then it pulls hard to the left. Either way its a shame but glad the driver is OK.

thats why you wear a fire suit, all the gear, all the safety equipment.
crap happens whether you're DE'ing or racing.
btw, thats not racing. thats just fast driving.
but both are as dangerous as the other. 160mph in a gt3 is a huge potential incident waiting to happen. he could have easily flipped, caught on fire, and he would be very much regretting not having the gear.
glad he was ok.
seems like maybe he had a tire going down, or bad pressures, or soemthing failed. he looked to have 4 wheels on, and it got ugly quick under braking. maybe the abs got ice mode and rears locked up and it started to come around and he surely wasnt ready to handle the car being upset. when he lifted off, that just ended it right there.

Having been on the receiving end of fluid on a track it isn't fun. All of a sudden you are going way faster than you would on a wet track.
If you are gong to hit something taking your hands off the wheel isn't a bad idea.
