So yesterday I had a chance of driving a .1 7 for about 10 miles. I had fun while driving it.
First impressions. WTF is this forum saying when the car's clutch is heavy and to stiff for daily use ? This thing was plush...so easy to drive slow and fast. I have 0 problems driving this everyday. It is quiet, not that stiff. Yes the valving can be better on the shocks but over all, it is NOT to much for the street. IMO its super easy to drive as a dd.
It was very easy to heal toe, and drive like a normal car. The one I drove had a sharwerks exhaust so it had a bit more kick then a stock one...Overall thoughts after the drive. Its a goo DD for me. A little to soft if i say.
So after i drove home and mulled over it...and let it process and started reminiscing about my 996t with 35k in mods suspension/light weight/track parts/gt2rs components... and quiet frankly after processing everything i was a bit disappointing with the .1 ...
(everything is great its just to...soft)
If I have to say what I liked about the .1 3...i like the fact that it is very tail happy... that made me smile. It feels light from the get go...sounds great...but still... my 996t felt extremely lively as well, and so much more confident, just as good turn in...so i'm having second thoughts... on the .1 gt3s... Mooty states the .2 gt3's are SIGNIFICANTLY better...so i guess i need to drive one of those guys...
That said... i have driven a gt3 996.. that thing is an animal. made me sweat like if i was in sauna...demanded everything of me x2...
Anyways i just wanted to give my input... my over all thoughts a .1 is not track only like 996 3...the .1 is very easy to live with everyday driving in the bay area ... just in case if anyone is wondering in getting one.

I agree.... just that almost all GT3 owners make it sound like a 997 is like driving a chariot. "To harsh " " to stiff " "takes to much effort" "yada yada" " its a workout driving on the street " ...i thought it was super easy to drive. I was actually a bit concern in street drive ability by some of the threads that are made here.... i guess its just different strokes for different folks.

Back in the dark ages of 2006, I was debating a 6.2 or a 7.1... I bought the 6.2, and still love it... Car is epic on the track, and a total beast. I have always found the comments on the 7GT3 forum about "rawness" to be a bit overstated!. Try driving a 6.1 - that is the most raw of the street GT3s!
Next additional track car will be either a 991 GT3 or 7.2 RS.... I drove a 430 Scud recently, and the floppies were freaking epic - so I am undecided (need to drive both)...
However, I will ALWAYS have a 6.2 GT3 in my garage. The driver feedback is what it is all about! And for the days I want pure speed, I'll pick up the keys for the newer version...

so you are comparing a stock .1 to your car with 35k in mods? Doesn't surprise me you found it a little dull. After owning both a .2 and a .1 (currently) I would say the .2 definitely is more suitable for dd. Suspension felt much better on street.

Same reason I dont get the PDK. Rowing gears isnt difficult, and the PDK is just too simple and boring.

I used to daily drive mine and think its perfect for a daily driver, not harsh at all. MY old e36 M3 with JRZ Pro DAs was much much less forgiving on the street lol, but ridiculously planted at the track. But as modern technology improves, its much easier to have a car that is comfortable on the street and at the push of a button very good out of the box on the track. Now if I could just push myself to get a set of Ohlin's for the gt3

This might make the GT3 gods cry.... but I'm considering a .1 > .2 due to roof racks capability... ![ducking](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/icon107.gif)
Yes i do plan to use the car..as a car. Any road cyclist here ?

why not 996 GT2?...daily drivable, but raw, IMO harder to drive fast/right than a 930(maybe it's just my car's old/worn current setup?)

I want to try the other side...but i think the 2 will be my ultimate calling when i can afford one to drive as a DD.
