wired my deposit to SVD on Friday. turns out they are pretty booked up. my allocation is set for December of 2015 and takes about 10 months to build, so looking at the end of 2016 really for my car to finish.

congrats! indeed it looks like svd will be busy for some time.

In the meantime, mine landed yesterday. Words cannot express the quality. It will take a long time to process the depth of this machine.

It is very cool to have the first message from the deposit day in aug '13 to now and to have this thread as a discussion and diary of the process!

end of thread, or just the end of the first chapter?!

I've always loved every aspect of these cars, even having only consumed information from a distance. I got to see two of them up close the other day and all I can say is that it's hard to appreciate these cars in pictures and youtube videos in the same way as seeing up close.

Do the front seats fold? I am just curious since they make a lot of effort to keep the rear seats usable...with the non-typical roll bar and such. I am currently rebuilding my 964 and I am trying to do the same. Great car, amazing color combo....drive the **** out of it!

they dont fold however they move forward enough that my kids (8,4) can readily get in the back seats, which they say are 'roomy'!
