Rennlisters finish 1-2 in PCAGGR Time Trial at Buttonwillow
Fellow Rennlisters DRL and Montoya (hey, that's me!) finished (unofficially) 1-2 in yesterday's GGRPCA TT at Buttonwillow. DRL had an incredible run with a fastest 2:04 lap, while I managed to squeak into second with a respectable 2:07.4. Lar and Chasen had various issues which kept them from running in the TT, but were easily fast enough to finish in the top three if they had run.
This was my first time at Buttonwillow, an amazing technical track where you never have a moments rest-it doesn't reward horsepower, you have to be on line and hit your marks to have a good lap, many Caymen could run into the 2:08 range with experienced drivers.
Thank-you to Orlando and Alice for feeding us this weekend and thanks to everyone (including my wife), and Hawk Performance that supports this expensive habit of mine.
Here's some pics from a fabulous weekend:
You had to have a GT3 or GT3RS AND a TPD trailer to park here!

DRL with "pit crew"
The gangs all here enjoying the wonderful hospitality of Alice and Orlando (Chasen's parents).

It was a beautiful sight to behold...
I'm surprised I was afforded entry, as I didn't have a gooseneck and it was by far the smallest trailer in the circus. I guess it was the AC that did the trick!

You two just out-classed the rest of us.
My weekend had started off so well. I was crushed that I couldn't do the TT. On Friday the track conditions were great, I had new hohos and pent up energy. All that culminated in a personal best time of 2:06.3, dropping 2.5 seconds from my prior personal best. Then the track conditions got worse thru the weekend. I was sliding all over the place on Saturday and lost nearly all that time I'd gained the day before. Sunday I go out on fresh Yoko slicks only to find I can't even control the car. I spun it in T2, the slowest corner on the track. On the out lap! Yikes!!! I try to soldier on in the 2nd session. The car is now trying to kill me. I'm convinced that there is something wrong with the car, like a broken sway bar or mount, or something. During the course of putting the car up on stands, I note the LR tire is flat. I checked it after the 1st session and it was spot on. Now it reads 14psi. We take it off to look for cuts or damage only to find the entire tire is bulging on the outer half of the tread face. It appears to have delaminated. Smoking gun found! I had to go back to the (now worn out) hohos and just couldn't get the car to hook up at all. I was catching it in most turns and finally lost it in T1 after lunch. The dust is so fine in Bakersfield. It's going to take a long time to vacuum it all out of that car. Poor Violet!

Awesome track weekend with an awesome crew! The generosity of Chasen's parents was just amazing. Now that I know how these ballers roll....next time I will come prepared to contribute something!
Somebody needs to teach me how to put text btwn pics
1) The RS line-up
2) Just a hint of the amazing food we ate this weekend
3) My lazy pit crew
I will try to get some vids posted up a little later...

What a awsome weekend! BW is one of my favorite tracks. Always have fun down there. Wish I could have done TT as well, though, not sure if I would be able to keep up with DRL even if i was on slicks...

Mikymu,
You missed a great weekend of driving.
Mooty, 24Chromium, DRL & Company had the velvet rope around their trailers. I could barely get a peak inside because I didn't know the secret handshake. I will have to look in my old GT3 manual to see what was that handshake.
Hopefully, you can make it down and you can keep my dump truck company next time.
