Default Laguna at 105db - what can I get away with?

I want the sharky race/track exhaust. Any chance that will pass at 105?

No chance. We tried that in the past and went over 108 db ... just ask speedoflight. They almost call the cops

you tried with the sharky center/side muffler delete? did you then pass with the cap?

so if you deleted the side mufflers but still had a stock center section and headers, you will still not pass the 105db?

side muff delete will pass 105db. no idea how much db but it's not as loud as center delete. major drone at <3krpm.
center delete will be marginal. on overcast days, will fail. marginally. they got me at 105.7db at WOT iirc.
side + center delete will get you expelled.

May not be comparable, but my car with Ruf mufflers and Fabspeed 200 cel cat's got me tossed at the standard limit. Isn't it 92 db? Rediculous. Ruined my weekend. They need to stop building homes next to race tracks, or something...

Fabspeed Motorsports is developing a new high performance 997 GT3 center muffler system that is a direct replacement for all 997 GT3 OEM stock mufflers. WE designed several different mufflers in 1 peice design and will be dyno testing on a 2012 GT3RS.

WE also have small mini MAxflo mufflers for all 997 GT3 cars that add +5HP over and above the factory 997 GT3 OEM stock mufflers that sound great and are not as loud as typical muffler bypass pipes. +5HP is a huge gain over the stock muffler system.

Our side muffler bypass pipes are available as well and have been in production since 12/2006.

Come to our OPEN house this weekend and the GT2RS and GT3RS will be here and possibly run on the Chassis Dyno.

my mistake on the 2012 GT3RS. the car is new and I assumed.

I would speculate that the stock headers or Fabspeed headers with side muffler bypass pipes and our rear small 997 GT3 maxflo mufflers would be loud and may or may not pass. It would be close but I have never been to that track. What is max DB at LS?

Right now the car has our 997 GT3 headers 3rd generation with very special HJS McLaren Mp4-12C catalytic converters that flow and support 750+HP. The car is back at Fabspeed and we will be completing extensive DYNO testing with variuos combinations. The headers should add +10 to 12HP to all 997GT3 cars. The car will be sound tested with the stock side mufflers and rear Maxflo mufflers and if we have time the new single Fabspeed center muffler.

The customer wants and his car will be delivered with the new Fabspeed 997GT3 headers and 2ndary muffler bypass pipes and Fabspeed GT3 maxflo mufflers. I will sound test the car to get a DB reading on public roads.

I could make 90 degree turndowns for the stock muffler just like we do for the Fabspeed maxflo mufflers. slip on>> easy on and easy off. ninety degree turndowns usually reduce -3DB aimed at the ground.

WE are working on valved mufflers that bypass everything so one can make a ton of noise too and restrict it just like FErrari does on the F458 Italia. The car breathes through only 2 1.75" pipes when the valves are closed and make 592HP.

Big pipes lose and cost a lot of power. People false assume Bigger is better and NO muffler has to be better than a well designed muffler. Fabspeed mini maxflo 997 GT3 mufflers were only slightly heavier than the Titanium Akrapovic 997GT3 muffler so weight is moot with well designed stainless steel systems.

Email alex@fabspeed joe@Fabspeed.com for details. I myself have been developing new valved mufflers, 458 parts, McLaren Spider exhausts and we have an OPEN house this weekend and 2 brand new HAAS CNC machines are on the truck VF2 SS and ST20Y and we are roughing in air & electric.

I will not ignore your emails and I often do not check private emails.
