As frustrating as it was, I knew my consolation prize would be the video I captured. I love making videos.

Apparently we have a celebrity caught here:

All that work, and only running 2:15....
If you're a forum member here (I know you are), I'm running about 9 seconds faster than you around the track. Ben is 16 seconds faster than you (but that's Ben). We both drive BOXSTERS.
OK. I'm done being an internet bully. I just had to get this off my chest. I'll give the owner the benefit of the doubt and assume for now that he's a good guy that just needs to work on track awareness. The next time we meet, I'll shake your hand and hope that a) you're faster than me, or b) you point me by

I don't get the same disrespect driving my Boxster. While I can't run with the typical GT3 driver who knows Sebring, which is where I normally run, when I run during an event that attracts drivers from other parts of the country like 48 hours, the GT3 and TT drivers who arent as familiar with the track, and slower than me, are normally quite quick to give a point by. Maybe it is because my car is race prepped and more aggressive looking?

I know it's annoying but not worth the effort/thinking about it/aggrevation. You're supposed to be having fun. Drive through the pits and enjoy the rest of the session, and don't think about it again.

+1. Plus I don't want the roof to blow off.

first of all, whoever's piloting the boxster in the video is a great driver! very high apex speeds. I think the gt3 driver was trying to play, though. it looked as though he/she just wanted to have fun, but it was definitely not DE-appropriate to not let you by.

Ha. Thanks. I'm ok. Definitely not great. There are MUCH more skilled drivers out there at the DE level than me. I recognize that there will always be someone faster than me, no matter how my skills progress. The video isn't meant to highlight my ability to drive.....rather.... Well... I said I was done bullying so I'll stop there.

I feel your pain. We've all been there. Not sure why some drivers are so afraid of point by's. There is a lot to learn by letting someone pass and then trying to stick to their rear bumper. Perhaps you need a 3.8 so you can pass him on the straights :-)

Thanks. I should consider getting a better track car (ie car with a roof). Perhaps a 3.8... or perhaps a 6.2L/7.0L domestic offering....
